Thanks everybody for the great comments This is Bill Asup's film and should be given all the credit, I just put the video together for him to put up on you tube, we all did it together to make the video happen.

The soundtrack to part's one and two are phenomenal, I wish I had a time machine to go back to 1971 would have been 4 years old but to be a teenager back then 😊❤❤❤

I was 7 when this film was taken. Grew up going to Venice Beach in the late 70's & 80's & it still was nothing like it is now. Too many fucking people in Calif now & it's been destroyed! Moved to Tenn 4 years ago but will always be a So. Cal girl in my heart, even though it makes me sad how it's been ruined.😢😢😢

Thank you for the memories. I was 14 and hanging out by Venice Beach a lot with my cousins. Had fun in those days. A lot has changed in the past 45 years.

I remember helping Green Power give out free food when Pig Tackaberry of the LAPD metro squad grabs the microphone to announce an unlawful assembly which caused 108 busts aven though there were 14,000 on Venice Beach on Sunday April 20, 1969… The order came when John Mayall was about to play

Fantastic footage! Did you shoot this??? I was looking closely to see if my family or I were caught on film as we lived on Rose at that time and played on the drain, and had family picnics to the left of drain-I thought the kid building the sand castle was me.
