I'm a moron. Or I was, at least the first time I went to Italy. I had the hardest time trying to figure out why I couldn't find VENICE on the train schedule from Rome. I booked my ticket. I had it right in my hand (hard copy - this was eons ago!) but damned if I could not find VENICE.
Um, because Italians call it VENEZIA. Just like they call other cities different names, not the Anglicized versions.
It's a super obvious tip, but it's one a LOT of tourists haven't a clue about.
