Both Topher Grace's and Tom Hardy's Venom take a bit after the Ultimate Spider-Man (Earth-1610) incarnation. Both movie Eddie Brocks aren't giant hulking humans which is akin to Ultimate. In addition, Hardy's Venom lacks the Spider-Symbol much like Ultimate and just like Ultimate, Venom's origin isn't tied to Spider-Man at all. This is a big one. "The Suit" isn't alien in origin with 1610. It's a science experiment gone wrong; an intended cure for cancer. Peter does don the Black Suit in Ultimate but he ditches it after it causes him to become a grotesque monster...resembling 616 Venom including the Spider-Symbol. Once he realizes how bad it is, he, with Eddie's "blessing", tosses the experiment into a smoke stack. But Brock had a second experiment of The Suit and, well, he wasn't all that happy with what Peter had done with the initial. Similar to Peter, he becomes a grotesque monster, just like the Spider-Symbol. In the Ultimate Spider-Man video game, he eventually DOES get the Spider-Symbol at the end of the game after absorbing Peter's DNA (via the Carnage symbiote). This isn't canon to the comics and the events of the game would be adapted via the "War of the Symbiotes" arc. It's confirmed that the people behind the 2018 Venom movie took after the Ultimate incarnation with his look and his origin having nothing to do with Spider-Man. So, there ARE versions of Venom that can work totally fine without Spider-Man's involvement. The 2018 film and Ultimate are just it. (Unless there's some obscure comic version of Venom I'm unaware of. That is very much possible.)
I hate how we have 2 Venom movies and all the comics that show Venom as a hero and yet none of the shows ever use any of it. They only stick to what the 90s series gave us, and it sucks
If you really love Venom and wanna make more videos about them then you should do a symbiote ranking. That would be just the greatest! Maybe even ranking the different hosts of Venom?
Some vemon,s don't have patches and can't camouflage but some vemon can be awesome without the patches but some nope and I really like Anti vemon and how about spider woman Jessica Drew for tom Vemon
Tom Hardy for me as his Venom desplays the conflicting minds while Topher Grace felt like the same ass dude plus I HATE how Topher's Venom barkey had screen time and barley talk I don't hate 2007 Venom but I wish they took time with him like they did with Doc Ock plus he felt like a copycat villain imitating Venom is hin being small, saying I instead of we, and not having the two conflicting personalities that Eddie and the symbiote are supppose to have
Venom 2 was the worst version of venom Ive ever seen. I felt like I was watching a parody, his voice was atrocious and the whole movie felt like a rehash of the first
If you have read Lethal Protector comics Venom always been funny and savage like when he got shot and he was pretend like dying but only messing up with the agent Venom being anti hero makes him more likeable imo
Yeah, I hope they can finally have the spider symbol finally. Even though we already have the 2 (nearly 3) Venom movies with Eddie, I sorta hope they have Eddie Brock in the MCU. Some people want it to be Mac Gargan (whatever it's spelt) the Scorpion. But I'd much rather the Scorpion BE the Scorpion, instead of having Venom be Venom but with a different name. Alot of the time there's a whole thing of "bringing a B-List Spider-Man Villain back into the spotlight!" and they just toss some symbiote at them, like the case with Mac Gargan.
@@PauTheDeo I could see Mac Gargan working to be honest, he'd be more ruthless Venom and go for Spider-man's loved ones. And hey guy from far cry 3 is playing him that'd work.
@@PauTheDeo That's what Eddie does and Mac can be diffrent in that way. Although only Troroboyo17 really made me like the suit bonding with Scorpion, he's quite bland in the comics.
When it comes to Topher's Venom you've gotta admit they were COOKING, i love the goopy webbing on him and the silver logo. He really feels like an alien i know this is a controversial opinion but i like his screeches, and Venom having a damn near similar body type to Spider-man because it shows that the symbiote was very attached to peter and took heavy inspiration from his suit and powers. Topher's Venom feels like an animal that didn't know any better it's weird but i love it.
The design, sound design, and even some of the finer characteristics are all solid. The problem honestly comes down to the lack of presence; He could have really shined brighter than some Venoms, but he had way too little time to work with.
90s Venom is my favorite because he actually got a pretty good arc. He was terrifying in his first appearance, and gradually evolved into a better person who helped Spider-Man by the end.
i don't fault sm3 for having Eddie be smaller because the movies kind of mix 616 and 1610 together so i see Eddie from sm3 as more of Eddie in the 1610 comics where he is a smaller skinnier guy
Spiderman 3 God , siperderman 3 Goty of the year of the decade of FOTEVER ,spiderman 3 i so good it cure ma schizofrenia ,spiderman 3 make world peace , SpuderMan 3 will guide us to a better tomorrow cause SPIDERMAN 3 is that Goooood Ok Jokes aside i dont think the Venomverse is that good but i do enjoy it can belive is journey is coming to a closure ,feels like yesterday when i saw venom 1 Why do i hear m&m in the background ?
I have to majorly disagree, while Eddie lost his journalist career with the Sin Eater incident, as shown in Spider-Man Family or when he met Kroba, Eddie was a great journalist and even with said incident when Carnage was inverted it would be implied Eddie was right about that as well. (Further backed up by Carnage resurrecting Emil before Absolute Carnage) Not to mention he has the wrong job (photographer) and location. (Daily Bugle instead of the Globe) Topher also did more than just scare MJ here and fully intended to kill her unlike his comic counterpart. I also feel that the change in the church scene is doubly inaccurate because Eddie's faith is very sincere, even if like Daredevil he loses it and rebounds sometimes. Topher also enjoyed being evil, something that the real Eddie from the comics at his worst would consider to be utterly abhorrent. Finally the symbiote seems to be taken from the 90s show instead of the comic and lacks the connection with it's host that the comic and Venom movie has, with Topher not saying we. Sam basically fell into the biggest misconception about Venom, that they are a dark mirror to Spider-Man, when that couldn't be further from the truth. Yes Venom's powerset is similar due the symbiote's bond with Peter but Eddie's life is very different. Its like saying Vegeta is a dark mirror of Goku. If anyone is a dark mirror to Peter its Doc Ock. Topher is only Venom on a superficial level.
Hopefully when they continue spectacular Spider-Man maybe we'll get the lethal protector ark for venom just like the comics he became a hero after he grew out of the hatred for Spider-Man and they have Carnage as the main antagonist you know like maximum Carnage or the insanity of carnage Carnage rain and maybe Carnage USA and this is where at The show goes on it becomes more of a p-14 show it becomes like it is in the comics
Oh why were you against kraven being a lion and did you know Dr goon read every appearances of kraven and there are multiple instances where he couldn't beat anyone by himself you should check out the video though but I want to be honest with you I'm not against kraven being a lion at all like if anything if he were to stay human and beat Spider-Man like that then he's never going to beat him like that so him being a lion allows him to keep up with Spider-Man and physical performance and besides that being a lion does not make him a hunter at all if anything he's a better Hunter as a lion then he as a human like night vision heightened and sense of smell and with the strength speed and reflexes he is able to keep up with him is all the things that are Hunter needs and I'm fine with you disagreeing with me if you don't like kraven being a lion this is just my opinion
I think in the case of Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock they did make him more inconsiderate than outright malicious. His actions do hurt people but he doesn’t do it intentionally. He doesn’t really stop to think about the people he hurts until the Symbiote humbles him. I think in that sense they got it right but they didn’t quite go far enough to make him a jerk. He’s dickish and inconsiderate and has a lack of personal responsibility such as causing Anne to lose her job but he doesn’t quite descend far enough. In other media Eddie only gets the Symbiote after he hits rock bottom and is at his most hateful. His life was kinda garbage but we didn’t see it go quite far enough compared to the 90’s Animated and Spectacular Spider-Man. Overall tho Tom Hardy is probably my second favorite Venom right after Ben Diskin from Spectacular Spider-Man.
Wow great way to look at it I liked this a lot. Part of me feels like the story just made it all explode in his face yk? Like saying something you shouldn’t and losing your job? Yeah that’s fair and fine. But idk I don’t necessarily think he’s inconsiderate for not considering Anne’s job. Most peoples actions at work don’t reflect on their spouses work so that’s just like a bad place to be in yk? Overall tho I def see where you’re coming from and like the way you look at it
@@spidermania the reason she was fired was because he accessed private work documents from her computer to use against Carlton Drake. The thing that got to Anne was the fact that he went over her head and betrayed her trust to do this and hurt her career. It was a straw that broke the camel’s back thing because Anne implied that he had done stuff like this to hurt her before through his general inconsiderate nature. I think they could’ve and should’ve done more showing than telling in this regard but yeah I see your point.
If you really want them to continue to be a bad guy forever then his stories want to be good and I do like it when he become an anti-hero then eventually being a king in black besides that marvel did well with venom compared the media outside of it but I say spectacular Spider-Man did him better well not in the origin story but the suit and also Eddie Brock being a friend like the ultimate one is and I do hope he gets redemption in this one as well then Eddie Brock will realize how pointless having revenge against Spider-Man is then maybe he'll start out as a rival to him and then eventually fix their friendship that they previously had before the symbiote even intervene that's the only thing I want from spectacular Spider-Man I don't want him to just be another type of monster that the insomnic games marvel Spider-Man 2017 or what ultimate Spider-Man made of him because I really do want him to go through an ark you know where the ark begins and where it ends for him to have the character conclusion for him that we really wanted for an adaptation that's the only thing I wish for whenever spectacular Spider-Man comes out
