Derek in this continuing series on the dying arts of plumbing gas and central heating takes a look at ventilation for gas appliances to see if the modern gas engineer needs to know it.
Because installers don't install appliances that require any kind of ventilation (Intergas are an exception in certain installations for cooling putposes) they almost disregard the ventilation requirements of appliances they encounter. I hope all installers will be reminded to assess the vents they come across to avoid potential risks. It maybe old tech.,but there are loads of appliances still out there waiting to bite the unwary or complacent!
