so true about attracting negative relationships, I think a lot of that comes from cancer in venus having a bit of a savior complex, like we really want to help people once we've committed to them

I don't really believe in compatibility, if people are really good for each other, it depends on their willingness to commit and work on the relationship than astrology deciding if they're good or not for each other, and everyone's charts are so versatile that you can't just look at one venus placement to decide if people are compatible or not :)
It's definitely possible, but it's more likely that your Venusian qualities will become more related to 8th house subjects (Taboos, sex, death, transformation) and be expressed more in these areas :)
