NOBODY sings romantic music like Vera Lynn. I can imagine dancing with my true love to this song as the two of us fall deeper into love with each other. Thank you DVL for all the lovely music you’ve given us!
Saw the movie when I was a little boy. Never forgot the song. Been over 70 years. To hear it again by Vera Lynn brings back so many memories. My wife and mother are now gone but this song says it all for me. Thank you for posting it. .
The painting in 1:12 is from Mexican Classical artist Jesus Helguera called "Michoacana" (1910-1971). He often used his wife for his inspirations. Hope this helps for those who were curious

Thanks for posting this memorable song. It was sung in the 1948 movie with the same title and starring Walter Pidgeon. I was just 10 years old then when I saw the movie and first heard the lyrics of the song.

O filme que lancou esta cancao data de 1942 ( o ano em que nasci). Vi-o ainda era crianca e nunca, mas nunca mais me esqueci esta linda cancao,. Sabe bem vir ao U-Tube, encontra-la e ouvi-la de novo mais de 60a nos depois. Nao haja duvida que a tecnologia quando aplicada a favor do bom e do bem ate e uma coisa maravilhosa.
Baixei com o Frostwire, há alguns anos atrás. Muito obrigada por suas palavras. Mamãe ainda toca esta música ao piano e cantamos juntas. Ela tem 83 anos. Não é uma grande performance, mas é um grande prazer.
These are nice romantic paintings, matching the old song. I don't recognise the one at 1.12, but I think two or three may be by Alma-Tadema, which, if correct, may give a clue to the others. Vera, as always, outstanding!

Olá, sou brasileiro e amo Vera Lynn! Tenho uma playlist com mais de 1h das músicas dela. Pena que ela não é conhecida no Brasil. Fiquei muito triste com o falecimento dela no mês passado, viveu 103 anos! Até a Rainha Elizabeth lamentou a morte dela, mas com certeza ela será para sempre lembrada no Reino Unido onde é muito famosa!
