Rest in peace Dame Vera Lynne, heaven has gained a true Angel. She is now in heaven singing to the troops who lost their lives for our independence. We will never see the likes of this special lady again.

I have a gig singing for elderly people who are in a memory care unit. Most can not have a conversation with you, some aren't even verbal anymore.....but when I start to sing the old songs....they all perk up and start singing along...some with words and some just with melody. One woman was 109 and was still singing on pitch. For a short time afterwords, sometimes they can talk and say "I used to listen to that song years ago". Music does something for us that science can't explain just yet.

That is a great story. And is something that should be done to perk up and help to bring back, if only for a little while, the memories & personalities of elderly people.

One woman lifted there spirits,i love Vera, but we should not forget our Gracie Fields ,as all the greats including George Formby,the 40s was truly rich and blessed in talent and were a part of our greatest generation, sadly in this p.c snowflakes and fake reality garbage culture today sadly we will will never see the talent or people ever again.

Vera Lynn's voice, when she was young, was so magical it makes a joke of shows like The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent. I don't know what planet kids today are on. Someone is lying to them, and it's not going to help them in the long run.

Nobody has a voice like Vera. And nobody ever will she had the voice of an angel.up untill her late 80s.and not 1 of the big stars 2day can match her voice think most.of them should retire.because they sound crap and really shouldn't be singing at all.i.m.o.
