Hi, Yes though the word 'like' is also a verb... But in this video we are just introducing the action words to the kids. And what you want to mention here is the next step. Please understand, if the learning happens step by step it's easy for a child to connect with and if we put all the concepts together at the same time, then things go haywire for that little soul. Which leads to confusion, lack of interest, hatred and all this brings lack of confidence. So, let's go step by step and create a strong base of our kids with CONFIDENCE. 😊😊
Hi Kirti! I taught phonics to my son. What's next? Joining two words with A...like Ba...ca.. da..? When to move to sight words? When to move to 3 letter words? I am little bit confused about the correct sequence.
Hi Arpana😊 Feeling happy to reply 😊😊 Yes, the very next step after learning the phonic sound of each letter is how to join the sounds like, ba... be... bi.... bo... bu... I'm sharing the link for the same. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--yqBHsRlcLE.html After this, start with 3 letter words like, 'a' family, 'i' family and so on. You can check the playlist of my channel to get the links for the same. Very soon I'll be uploading the videos for sight words starting from easy ones. So, will let you know how to work with that.
"I like to read books" The verb is not read. The verb is like. A word that is normally a verb but is proceeded by to becomes an infinitive form of the verb and functions as a noun. Subject I Verb like. I like. I like what? to read.
Hi, Agreed! But if you watch the video again and check the description box, I have mentioned that verb means an 'action word'. This is the introductory video for the beginners...or for the students of grade 1, who have just stepped out of the 'kindergarten' and came across the term'grammar' and 'topics of grammar' for the first time. So, whenever we introduce anything to someone, we always begin with the simple and move on to the complex level. So, in the word 'read', an action is happening.😊
@@kirtibhalla18 I do appreciate your feedback and broadly understand. Yet consider, I'd just been through a few workbook pages with my grandkids who I am homeschooling. We did an example almost identical as Tommy likes to play with his dog. I explained how it works. Then we went to videos for practice and someone "official" gives a wrong answer. You're free to choose your examples so why choose one that requires you to conflate an infinitive as a verb? Same with helper verbs. If you want to keep it simple, use simple examples.
Hi, Yes, you are right. But many of the grammar books which are available in the local market have these kind of sentences... So, wanted to make them understand that how easily they can trace out the verbs at initial stage. 😊
