I so wish this complete Aida had survived. Everyone is absolutely inspired and de Sabata presents us with one of the most sensitive readings of the score I have ever heard: he knows exactly what he wants and is able to achieve it and yet he gives the singers the space and support they need. One of my favorite conductors, for sure.
