He is amazing!!! Though there are several beautiful tenors I think :) Matthew Polenzani, Michael Fabiano, Pavol Breslik, Roberto Alagna, Jack Swanson, Josh Lovell... to name a few :) So I believe the future of opera really is in safe hands!

lovely round sound, a lyric, not a shouter...made his met debut this year I think....hope to hear more from him.BTW he has a very well done web site-lots of samples of his wonderful voice.
The sound here is for the video although most opera houses use a sound system to enhance the quality with very subtle techniques. this has been happening for years.
the met dates from the 60ies of the 20th century and is a very large house. most of the operatic music wasn´t written for theatres that big. so amplified singing is quite ok with me THERE
Heard him years ago at San Francisco making his debut there singing Lenski and was very underwhelmed. I understand why now....his is a pure lyric tenor that just needed more time! Love him as Alfredo.......!!!
I honestly don't think singers are being honest anymore. There is definitely amplification now in big houses like the Met (and maybe the Chicago Lyric?) Back in the day it was all voice, no technology. We can't say that today. I wish someone's mike would blow out mid performance at the Met someday so these cheaters can be exposed. lol
Sounds like a pretty generous lyric voice. I get the impression his voice is being driven a bit on the louder sections though for some reason... hope he takes good care of himself. =)
Muy buena representación. Fantástico Bezcala, uno de los mejores tenores actuales sin duda. Aun así, no me termina de agradar su timbre, le falta un poco de coloratura y pienso que ha de mejorar bastante la dicción. Tampoco me agrada la moda de emitir la voz lo más fuerte posible para agradar a un público poco refinado, el cual solo valora a aquel que "grite" más. Pero bueno, es joven y le queda mucho tiempo para seguir mejorando.
Acabo de verlo este otoño 2019 y te aseguro que está en total plenitud, aunque aquí me gusta ya muchísimo. El no es de emitir águdos así pq sí, tiene voz potente pero controlada a su antojo. En la Temporada Lirica A Coruña 2019...se caía el teatro con los bravos y aplausos. Siempre, el buen cantante de ópera, mejora muchisimo en el contacto personal, justo lo contrario que otros, que pierden. El es una EXQUISITEZ, si tienes ocasión, no te lo pierdas en vivo 💯💯💯💯
@marinha63 No, no me parece hayan parecidos con Placido. Si le gusta Beczala escuche Labo', Di Stefano, Kraus, Gedda, el joven Pavarotti, Alagna. Voces mas parecidas por timbro y repertorio. ;-) Saludos.
marinha63 este joven tiene muy buena voz y potente e interpreta correctamente no trastoca las notas a su acomodo. Es la voz de un tenor parecida a los que nombra"kablue79". No se perece a Domingo, (gracias a Dios) ya que interpreta muy bien sin modificar las notas a su acomodo, no desafina en las notas altas y èstas rara vez salen como se debe, en fin es mucho mejor. Escuche a los nombrados, además del gran Franco Corelli y se dará cuenta de las diferencias. Cordialmente.
Soy admiradora de Plácido Domingo, pero sin muchos conocimientos musicales. Alguien podrá decirme si percibe un cierto parecido de este tenor con el Maestro? Desde ya muchas gracias .
Why is it done now though when singers got along fine without it in the past? Are voices just not as loud/resonant these days? Seems like it would be pretty sticky figuring out who to amplify etc, and keeping it quiet. Wouldn't surprise me though.
There's no proof but most people agree it's the reality. Of course people who actually work for the Met Co. would know, but probably won't release that information to the public.
Ha ha that would be funny if there was a problem and you suddenly couldn't hear the singer. I guess there's circumstantial evidence, but is there any more than that? I mean if that is the case, obviously a number of people know it. Stage hands or technicians or whatever.
I like Piotr, he sung last year in Bratislava, but the voice without amp was flat and I did not like the singing that much. Maybe it was just not his day, or the acoustics of the theatre is terrible... I honestly do not know. I think he is a lovely singer, but today you do not know anymore...
