Well Mr Pete fashionably late I am but made it!! I have said this numerous times, you ABSOLUTELY amaze me with the talents you have for repair work!! That was very interesting to watch!! That puller seemed to work well, could have used that myself in the video on the new to me combine 😁😁 After.I came too🤣🤣🤣🤣 Yep, I bet the machine shop one will last longer too!! I would forget where half of that went by the time I took it apart ,. studied in the corn planter yesterday for over an hour....and it was just bolts to put back 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thank you sir for bringing us along!! Look fwd to seeing some hay go through it!! 😁😁😁😁🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍
“ and when I came too “ that was a great one ! Yep I’ve took stuff apart in the past and when it came time to do it again, I didn’t remember how I did it so don’t feel to bad , ole folks moment I guess
Excellent video. I listened to Car Talk too, but one of the favorite things was lunch on the farm with Paul Harvey’s noon day report on the AM radio...👍
Looks like the puller works well!! We had a JD 430 for about 20 years. It ate chains and sprockets! We put new chains on every year and new sprockets every other year. We blew up a few rollers, factory don't last near as long as home made or custom made.. We found double roller bearings that fit, they hold up much better than original.
Ah, Car Talk! Loved it, and that project = new tool idea stuck with me too! That hydraulic gear puller is a very worthy purchase! But how did you ever survive without it for so long?! Thanks for the close-ups of the worn gears! They are almost shocking!
Good job on the baler Pete. You've got me convinced to get that gear puller, have the same work to do on my Vermeer 604 super J, this should make it bearable.
Good day Pete Boy o boy u got some work out of it Did u buy baler new? Many many yrs ago I got mazine "Farm & tractor" looking at it, Vermeer 1st machine I think it roll on ground! When u passed out I hope u didn't hurt yourself? When putting sprockets on I thought of old mechanic , take "stp' put end of screwdriver in it & see if u can hold screwdriver up without sliding thur fingers,& u can't. Good video Boy Canada is burning in every province, almost , serious fire in Nova Scotia Yes we are in heat wave almost 90 degree. I can't hardly handle it. Thanks
Hi Don! The baler was built in '99, it was five years old when I bought it. We had a nice shower yesterday, first in almost three weeks. Hope you guys get some rain soon!
