I rented a stump grinder from a place near me. Had 9 stumps to grind so rented it for 24 hours. Worked on it for 10 hours and only got 2 completely ground to 3-4 inches below grade. Worked on 4 others and ground them to just about or a little above grade. Wasn't able to get to the other 3. The process was much slower than I anticipated and only assumed it would take 4-5 hours max for all 9 stumps. The toro stx 26 I was using only trimmed about 1/16 to 1/8 of an inch at a time. Any more and the teeth would stop rotating. Upon returning, they told me there was likely an issue with the hydrolics bc it should never stop rotating and refunded my 85 of the 250 I spent on the rental. I'm in the process now of trying to get another one for free for a 24 hour period since it's still not fair that 1) I spent over $150 (with tax) for a broken machine 2) Spent over 10 hours working on stumps that should have taken me 4-5 hours total.
No the Vermeer didn't get stuck. I now own a Rayco on tracks and have not been stuck with that either. I did own a Rayco with wheels and got that stuck a couple times, so i think its more of tracks vs wheels and not Rayco vs Vermeer
