VermiBag Ep 199 Using Shredded Paper for your Garden Mulch 

I started using regular shredded paper in my garden this year. Definitely helps with the weeds. I don't mind the snow look. 👍

I put a bucket or pot over plants before I dump mulch, spread out and then just remove covers. Time saver.

Thank you for showing us a comparison of what the plants look like a couple of days later with mulch and without mulch. I've watched many videos (some even had 100k+ views) about shredded paper mulch and none of them have given a comparison of what the soil or plants look like with and without.

Thanks so much for the demo and comparisons! So awesome! Iv never actually mulched cause I always feel like I don’t know what to use/how to get enough of whatever to use etc.. but shredded paper I have! (Also have a bag or two of “to be shredded” paper lol). Now I know what I’m gunna do with it!

I use all my junk mail, cardboard, waste paper, and so on the I shred in my 10 sheet crosscut shredder. I found out that on sheet of cardboard box torn into 8.5” strips is about as think as 10 sheets of paper.

I like coconut shell mulch.

I would add the shredded paper to flowers but I would be concerned about the toners and chemicals that might be in the paper when growing veg.

May I use shredded used photocopy paper even if they have toner black or even colours toner ? Could they be poisoning my garden ?

what about wind? I live in a very windy town. I normally dig the wet paper into my soil
