@@Janfon1 A dwarf who's already a ranger away from his home and people who lost all his friends during the literal end times is pretty fucking sad and anger inducing.
I know right ? just cleaving through the hordes with his greatsword and increased attack speed from all the stackable bonuses going ham against 500 skavenslaves at once
Nobody: The music while Markus The Gigachad Kruber holds off 20 Chaos warriors, a troll, and more skaven than I can count simply because he can shout and swing a mace really fucking hard:
Just the other day i were playing a Legend match on "Against the Grain" And This Witch hunter Saltzpyre Went full Superman, Me and the rest of the team had died but alone stood the Witch hunter and Cut down Chaos warriors, Dodged Hooks and assassins while freeing Civilians and running away. We had all died in the first Courtyard of the last Stretch of the map and he was alone throughout all of it and he managed to escape, it was a Sight to behold. I don't remember your name Witch hunter but if you see this, You have my respects.
I feel everyone has a legendary story to come back to when hearing this. Mine was when i was playing Grail Knight with friends on Against the Drain, all my friends had died and i just went full tryhard mode fending off against a rat ogre, and a horde incoming with only Two Swords and a Shield, Whilst freeing civilians. At that moment, i knew the Lady was with me.
Yeah, I have one as well On Skittergate Legend, when playing as Unchained, everyone at the same time went down, the big rat was already slain and the boss had 1/3 of his HP left. Due to being constantly surrounded by enemies, I only manage to damage the boss and kill it in the end, then save my teammates and rush to the exit. My highlight of playing the game for +200 hours.
Theres no feeling more epic than saving the whole team and winning against overwhelming odds. That soundtrack captures this feeling of desperateness and heroism perfectly!
Something about this song simultaneously screams "I'm on the way out!" and "I'LL TURN THIS WHOLE FUCKING WORLD TO DUST AS LONG AS YOU'RE STILL ON IT WHEN I DO." I like this.
I can't stand the emotions in this one. On one hand - despair and sorrow, taking away all strengh to cary the task on. What is there left to fight for without them - the only family, now gone? On the other - righteous fury, urging to kill every last one of them. The fiend shall pay. There is one last servant of Sigmar standing! Vengence and wrath shall be made manifest! What a rollercoaster.
Bless. I was sad when this cut of the main theme wasn't in the soundtrack. Same with the keep music. I cannot tell you how many times this music has carried me through being the last one alive. They nailed it. Gets my adrenaline going every time. Even in isolation here it pumps me up for a fight.
That's exactly what I'm feeling too! That music is magnificent! You just see horde, thousands of Chaos Warriors or/and Stormvermin and music pops up. Ahh! What a great feeling!
Yeah, even when I pop back into V2 occasionally (rarely V1 now) music like this makes it great. Really captures and enhances that rush that comes with being the last one alive or everyone left desperate.
Had a round where the spawns on Fort Bracksenbooker(T) wigged out and just constantly spawned pinkrats in computer destorying numbers. Got to listen to this for about 2 minutes while chainbashing rats at the canon with Axe+Shield Bardin while waiting for stealth to come back so I could move the canonball, all while people gradually went nuts when it started to become clear I was actually going to finish it. "Just Bring Ironbreaker Bardin" "Why go Axe+Shield on Ranger Bardin?" Thats why Scruffs. Because Axe+Shield Vet Ranger does it all... WITH STEALTH.
I think it's justifiable to bring shield weapons on RV if you have Grudge Raker. You would want the shield bash to push close horde away when you reload. And I don't understandwhy did they complain. RV generates supplies for the team, and its their fault for the game to get difficult if they die before you. If you don't die as much as them, and they want you to go Ironbreaker, I'd suggest leaving that lobby, to be honest. That said, I miss how shield weapons were on par ( or even better than sometimes ) with other weapons in Vermintide 1 ...
I love this theme because it means that, USUALLY, you're utterly screwed... but, there is a glimmer of hope. You may yet pull this off, and the victory made all the more glorious for it. That probably won't happen, of course. But it might. Ready to show what you're really made of?
This is definitely scary to hear when playing Sienna but also so much more satisfying when you reach your fallen teammates on legend after and they cheer for you!
I remember I had a legend run on the last level of the helmgart story arc (the skittergate). I played as unchained sienna and all my companions died one way or another and I was the only one left alive. With the right build unchained can be a real beast, like mashing a tank and a berserker in one. If you can manage your bar you can survive for quite some time. Held off the horde right before the first boss and got my team back together, but as soon as I heard that music... Adrenaline went up like tenfold. They really nailed the song.
Convocation of Decay on Legend, escape time. Too many Stormvermin and Chaos Warriors, team is down and dead, me the Ironbreaker on temporary health makes a break for it, can't fight them, special is on cooldown, gotta backpedal and side dodge up the steps, get stuck on a rock while moving backwards, panic jump, dodge backwards, turn and run, turn and block, dodge backwards, turn and run, make it to the exit with one tome. It was anxiety inducing.
I take pride in how I never get a high heart rate in this game, even in legend death scenarios, but for some damn reason, as soon as this theme plays, it triggers something in my brain and it makes me feel like I'm going to have a heart attack lol.
Maybe you had a bad team, maybe you were just unlucky, like that one special spawning during a boss, followed by a horde, everyone's down but you. You perform better than you ever have out of desperation, your heart pumps fast, you can feel it, you might even sweat, the music kicks in... DIE FIGHTING, DIE DEFIANT! Or better yet, live and get praised by your teammates.
Live not for praise, glory and riches - live to fight some more! Live to die another day! Live so that you may meet your Gods and say "I died standing".
I remember once playing as Sienna and being the last person standing. I had absolutely no way of escaping my predicament. So I overloaded myself to Hell and tok out every single Ratman and Northlander with me. My party wasn't even mad. All they said was 'Hey, at least you tok those fuckers with you.' Another run, I was the last man standing again, as Saltzpyre, and what stood between me and securing victory for the party was a Chaos patrol. Threw a bomb. Beelined for the bridge of shadows, and gave a last 'Fuck you' shot with my pistol which found it's way into a Mauler's face. This game has some epic as fuck moments sometimes.
The situation had gone haywire in a matter of seconds. All of the bots fell into water, I was all alone as Slayer against a swarm of Skaven from all sides. Cornered to a wall, I butchered my way to the bridge as hell followed until they finally stopped coming. An entire minute of screaming GRIMNIR'S WRAAAATH and slashing axes until nothiNg was left. Took a breather, went on to revive my teammates, thanked Ranald for not spawning any specials throughout any of that.
First game had some epic moments too. We were trying to destroy the generators in the Dranchenfels DLC, and everyone but Kruber was down at the last one. Not only did the ogre spawn, but a runner, packmaster, AND horde spawned! He threw his only bomb at the horde, took out the runner and packmaster. It was just him and the ogre, with him having 10 health left. He kept dodging and blocking, until suddenly, the ogre died. The legend saved the run!
Everybody else talks about the moment this song brings to mind so here's mine: I was playing chaos wastes as Sienna with some friends and we got to the citadel of eternity pretty easily. but as we got to the last arena, a troll showed up with the cloning trait and lifesteal. as we fought, one of the clones knocked everyone grouped on another off the edge of the citadel, leaving me the only standing player, unable to help them up. So I proceeded to fight for my life against the troll , its clones, and some skaven we didn't clean up earlier with very low health, and somehow managed to come out on top.
when i hear this song i'm like Saltzpyre in the trailer of Vermintide 1 : * top view camera * , " FOR THE EMPIRE !!! " , * gunshot * , * gunshot * , * double gunshots * , * gun shot * .
It reminds me of that moment in Sons of Hurin, where Hurin was the last one alive in his company, and he resisted his last moment in combat yelling "The sun will rise again!" Best part of that book
He uttered that line every time he swung his axe and killed something, and he did it forty times. He was only captured because his axe melted from the sheer awesome. Hurin was a peak chad.
Having this play right at the end stretch of a mission as Ironbreaker really just fuels you with adrenaline, ended up carrying that mission and getting everyone out alive while tanking two chaos warriors and a shitload of rotbloods
I was in an against the grain mission. We all died except Kerillian. I thought "ugh, we're done" purely because when one person's standing, they more often than not die one way or another, and the fact the field was littered with enemies. She surprised me, she dodged like a boss, killed an assassin, and freed us, we won later on. Whoever that Kerllian was, if you remember TheGameKnight2022, just know you have my utmost respect.
A few days ago I was a Witch hunter captain on my third time playing Champion. We where on that mission with the nurgle ritual(the name leaves me atm) you have to disrupt by standing in the circle on the pedestal. On the first drop down we had just lost the dwarf bot to trash mobs, then our Siena got snatched right at the edge of the hole after everyone else went down. Me and the Merc where in an arena against fifteen chaos warriors and the horns started calling so we had specialists coming in with the mobs of pactsworn. The Kruber was running the executioner sword and isn’t able to get through the C. Warriors before he gets taken down by a warp fire thrower. Leaving me by myself against half a wave, 10 some odd chaos warriors, two rat catchers, a gunner, and a warp thrower. I clutched for the first time in my life that day. Managed to whittle the hoard down and focus on the chaos warriors after. This theme had my heart racing then looking forward to it again cause there really is nothing like that feeling
Nothing will ever feel to me as epic as a GK trying to reach the other end at the temple of Sigmar, while pushing through the hords, and dodging a hook and a lich to get to free the others.
Playing QM with a team full of randoms, their heroes still lvl 10 to 15, i heard that OST so many times that i got used to the adreline and actually helped me a lot to deal with weird situations during legend runs
I fought a Stormfiend with a rat patrol and a few chaos warriors and maulers. It was at the war camp, the blót tree and the area around it . The patrol and warriors were chasing me for sometime and I reached the area and Stormfiend spawned. I was like, “g r e a t” . So I used that fools fire to kill most of the patrol , I was blocking and jumping at the same time for like 8 minutes circling the area . Very thrilling , too bad my recording is gone .. rip my old Xbox ☠️😪
i was surprised when this song start to playing when i was in the middle of a horde, then i figure out i was alone. But i thought this was only the music intro.
