I would love to have/make/buy one of these three cylinder VW radials..I, like most guys i suppose or most of use handyman gearhead types, think there is no sound in this world like a big Radial engine like the R2800. Nothing can possibly sound so awesomely sweet and powerful to my ears anyway..and although this little radial isnt anything like its bigger brothers or rather is nowhere near their class of engine cause they are alike in a distant relative type of way lol...This engine still has that Classic Radial deep throated Stutter type sound that makes my heart get nice and fuzzy warm as it races along. Its been my ultimate dream to fly a Corsair one day as its my favorite aircraft of all time by a long way..the Jn4 Jenny and Hawk are on that list too..oh not the hawk ultralight the hawk that inspired the Stuka dive bomber hawk. Udet was bribed into the Nazi party by goreing who offered him two of the nimble Curtiss Hawks if he would join. From the Hawk was born the idea of the Stuka... Anyway it looks realistically like ill only be able to watch them fly the real ones anyway...recently however a german company is offering a ultralight corsair. Doesnt look ecact of course but as close as ill ever be able to get.and it should prove great fun. Of course anythibg flying using the corsair name just HAS to have Radial power..blaspmey otherwise!! The kit suggests Werner Radial engine power plant but i like the little VW conversions for numerous reasons not the least of which being their overall economy and also their famous reliability proven over many years both in cars and in all sorts of different flavors from cut and uncut case two cylinder conversions to just plopping them into aircraft with all four pistons..many successful flight hours withs lots of pilots who trust them and swear by them. Seems like many cant seem to get radials down..just watched a video about Rotax radials that cost one builder tge total loss of three complete aircraff with a fourth failing before takeoff..with rotax even intentionally lying to him saying they inspected and fixed the first failed engine when it became apparant--after it failed a second time--that the engine had not been even casually inspected. They therefore knowingly intentionally risked his life as well as any passengers he might have been flying as well as people on the ground..behaviour reprehensible by a company as big as Rotax with as many engines in the air..just reprehensible!! And although i know its going to prove inconvient and or more costly at times i cannot see a time where i will ever give Rotax a single dime nor visibly support their products by flying even a used or rebuilt engine of theirs..if nothing else in solidarity with this man but also.if enough of is their customers act in the same way its the only way/reason a big company actually listens to their own customers...when money is to be made or lost and the bigger that amounts the faster they will listen and more seriously too. If its a situation where it might cause them catastrophy then they will act quickly if not completely stupid..and catastrophy it should absolutly threaten when they so obviously and callously play with the very lives of their customers..THEIR PRODUCTS CAN EASILY RESULT IN THE DEATH OF THEIR CUSTOMERS AND MULTIPLE OTHERS OF THEY ARE DEFECTIVE AND THERE IS ABSOLUTLY ZERO NONE NOT A SINGLE EXCUSE FOR KNOWINGLY OFFERING A DEFFECTIVE PRODUCT AND THERE IS NO POSSIBLR WAY THOSE ENGINES COULD HAVE PASSED ANY SERIOUS TESTING PROGRAM WHEN FOUR OUT OF FOUR OF THEIR PRODUCTION ENGINES FAILED EACH IN MULTIPLE VERY BASIC WAYS AREAS THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN CLOSELY MONITORED IN TEST OF ANY RADIAL DESIGN FAILED IN WAYS ITS ALMOST GUARANTEED TO HAPPEN IN ALL OTHERS MADE THAT WAY WITH THOSE MATERIALS ACROSSED THE BOARD AS FOUR FAILURES OUT OF FOUR WOULD IMPLY ALSO YET THEY HEAVILY MARKETED THEM.... BUT HEY AT LEAST THE WIDOW WILL HAVE NO PROBLEMS WITH GETTING A REPLACEMENT UNDER WARRANTY THEYRE GOOD ABOUT SENDING ONE RIGHT OUT BIG FRICKIN WHOOP HOW ABOUT REPLACING THE FAR MORE EXPENSIVE PPLANE AND IRREPLACEABLE LIVES ROTAX?

That's the new world they're making for us. They can't just take it away so they'll starve you out of your petty little pursuits. I went to the store last night and a jar of strawberry jelly that used to be $3.50 is now $6.00. Makes you sick, but too many people saying that politics doesn't affect them yields a world where you no longer have control. I hope you don't think they just arbitrarily doubled the price of this motor. The new price is what they need to get to stay in business after raw materials, energy, insurance etc has all gone through the roof. They're in the Czech Republic. The US blowing up that pipeline and starting a war can't be helping.
