Trudging her way, barefoot through Black Park in this video, she met Frankenstein twice, followed Dracula in day-for-night loveliness, she even cavorted with Simon Templar and Jason King. In films and TV shows, she was the quintessential golden blonde who could break your heart with a smile. Her gentle cut-glass accent and her easy humour made her a favourite with all who met her.
I first encountered Veronica Carlson in the film, 'Dracula Has Risen From the Grave' one night when it played on ITV. When she walked into the bierkeller like Red-Riding-Hood and smiled that sweet smile, a film that was already amazing became that much more amazing.
Starring in three Hammer films and regularly appearing on TV shows and in comedy movies like 'Crossplot', with Roger Moore, and 'Pussycat, Pussycat, I Love You' with Ian McShane, she was one of the key faces of British cinema and television in the late 60s and early 70s but quit acting for a while at the height of her fame.
