I have a 98 ram 1500 4x4 and I’m looking for a 5.7 hemi and trans to go in it, hope it won’t be too hard keeping the 4x4 working. Truck has emotional value so I’d really like to do the engine and a complete custom interior hope it turns out to be a beast I want a blower on the 5.7 when I get it all ready these trucks are mean I couldn’t think of a better truck to build
Once you jack the engine around they slide in fine, it's a tight fit for sure. Also I had to cut a section of the y pipe to shorten the one side to get everything engaged fully. Starter definitely has to be out to install the driver side

Also i had a 2000 offroad and wanted to let you know if your into that kinda thing doesnt take much to run 37s possibly 38s for fairly cheap.... with a leveling kit and 3 in body you can fit 37s possibly even 38s just alittle fyi if your into that kind of stuff and lookin to find out how big you can fit. Also you can fit just with a leveling kit no body lift you can run 35s

Bought the same truck last fall, same color. Love it. She gets more of my time than the wife lol. Just put stainless headers on my self. Wasn’t as fortunate as you. I had two broken bolts before I started. Ended up with 3. Love the video. Still got Veronica?
Leslie RS3L is your train horn. Leslie and Nathan Airchime are the real ones. Hate those cheap train horn kits. I also drive a 01 Ram 1500 with 5.9 360. Love these second gen Dodges! Got some shorty headers on mine and love them.
I have a 96 lwb w318 with 4.000 scat crank and a .40 over bore for 392ci. And a stage 3 shift kit for the 46re and I regeared the rear to 3.92 lsd with disc brake conversion and I have hellcat wheels and tires 20/55/335 rear and 315 front and ram 3500 suspension front and rear with fox coil overs front and rear with 2" 4" suspension drop been looking for a supercharger kit and decent long tube headers equal length and I'm going with 3" pipe with flowtech hp-2 mufflers and I have msd ignition with e3 plugs and msd ignition box
what company did you use. I cant find any long tubes. Nobody has anything for the ram. I have 97 with a 5.2. Are they the pacesetter lpng tibe? Chinese knock off? Summit racing? Any body knows if i can get the summit racing headers for the small block LA to fit into the truck ? Any modification?
Planning on 5.7 swapping my ram from the 318 and putting in a dash from the 3rd/4th gen most likely same generation I pull the engine from man I just wish these things didn’t break every 1000 miles. Planning on doing a massssive over haul
@@TurbaTom thanks for the reply. My shorties slid right in but I know long tubes are better. On my 05 power wagon I had to replace the sagging motor mounts to make my arh headers fit. I wonder if that would have helped the fit.
Did you have a gasket leak on your old headers? I’ve got that ticking sound. I think that’s what I’ve got with my 00 1500. I’m debating on just getting a new gasket for getting headers while I’m down there. Thanks
The old headers were shot. But when a gasket would leak I'd get the ticking sound. Eventually I had to double up the gaskets to get the leaks to stay sealed
You said it was an offroad package? With a 5.2 magnum? Offroads didnt come with the 5.2 only 5.9l magnum. If its a offroad it will 4.10s trussed front dana 44 bout a 2 inch lift etc hooks.... decal on tailgate different rims shocks and hooks..... and maybe couple little odds and ends.... by looking at it from different things im seeing definitely looks like an offroad or maybe a clone not hard to do unfortunately theres alot of people out there that make these trucks into clones so people think they have one and dont.... are you sure your truck isnt a 5.9 360 magnum not 5.2 318 magnum?
I liked it, but there are better options out there now. I had a mini because that was the only option back then, also not many people support mcc custom tuning any more
@@jmanyoo3305 i was wondering about that. I plan to do head studs soon. I really didn't want it just to make more power mainly just to get rid of the trash off the engine so it wasn't eating it's own shit and not to have the $ light on all the time. Thanks for the advice.
@@TurbaTom living here in Idaho we don't have any place anywhere local to go to get custom tuning. I know it can be done remotely but as you said finding anyone to do it on a hwy rig is hard anymore. The mini max had great reviews for plug n play and would work on a deleted rig. Thanks for getting back to me.
waist of time and money, I was told Never to install headers on my 5.2, he said they Will come loose and hes fixed 100s of inferior aftermarket parts. Less is More Kiss= keep it simple Stupid...
