I got one in order and according to marine depot it’s on it’s way to me. So excited! I originally had a GHL and it failed calibration several times so I returned it to BRS. Thanks for the review!
Great review!! I was "one of the lucky ones" to get it early and I put it through its paces, I tried to break it and it's still ticking. Quality far surpassed my expectations. And the way it interacts with the Mobius is seamless. You can definitely tell they put a lot of thought into this pump. I'm replacing every single peristaltic pump in my fishroom with the Versa. So hurry up and make them available!!!
The only way to put a pump like this to the test is to push the stepper motor to it's very limit. Which in turn will test the physical limitations of all the moving parts. I was able to bench test the pump for several days at a continuous speed of 375 ml/min (175 over production speed). I figured that either the motor would get so hot to short out the motors windings or deform the plastic case. Or the friction of the rotating rollers would prematurely wear out and create a lot of slop between the roller and stainless steel axle .Despite the noise at that speed the pump came out of it with zero negative effect in terms of fatigue. I think the decision for capping the utility pump at 200ml/min (continuous) speed is based more on noise, and practicality for the nature in which it will be used. Dosing is great, but what makes this pump so attractive to me (and probably the majority of people wanting this pump) is the ability to run continuously. But the ease in which Mobius interacts with these pumps, I'm committed to replacing every single peristaltic pump that I own.
Just wondering, if you like your Aeraqua Duo AD600 Protein Skimmer - Maxspect under the tank you are talking about? Thinking about getting one as a upgrade.
Hello Jake! How are you man? I’m hoping you can help me. I have the k1 stirrer and I was trying to feed it with a Neptunes Dos pump but it was not pushing enough water through the reactor to start the drip into my sump so I ended up using a pmup pump from Neptunes. Now I see you’re using a versa pump and from a good distance away and it seems to be strong enough to work for the reactor. Do you have any advise for me as to the way I need to set up the dos to push enough water through the reactor or is the versa that much stronger then the dos dosing pump that I’m using ? My dos pump is only a few feet away from the reactor
Jake I know you are a big proponent of kalkwasser. Could you please do a detailed video about different types of kalk reactors , what you personally use/recommend and maintenance involved to keep them running in tip top shape? I can't find a whole lot of useful info out there. I have been dripping and like what I am seeing however the drip is fine then it slows and sometimes stops. I have to constantly babysit it and I no likey. :(
Are you still running brightwell kalk +2 on every tank, or just kalk on some?(others with regular kalk) I've been having good luck with kalk +2, but may use regular kalk for some cases.
Was thinking of getting the Apex system to be able to buy the DOS in order to do automatic water changes. Will I be able to use 2 pumps to automate water changes on this and use the other 2 for anything else I wanted like maybe kalk and one to top off my ATO Reservoir?
Great video. My current setup is complicated. I feed my frozen food, phytoplankton, calcium, alkalinity, magnesium, aminos through my Evo dosers x8. I would like to know whether I can link more than 4 of these new dosers? What is the tube internal dimension 4mm or larger? If I can and control from one app then this will be on my shopping list 👍🏿
I love my GHL doser. But the tube adapters are just stupid. This JG push connector is just worth it for me. Perhaps I will consider it. I'm just sucked into the GHL ecosystem
I’ve said it before but my gawd your music choice gives me chills. And that pump looks good too. I’ll be picking one up one day. I just need them to give the MP60s a makeover and I’ll be an ecotech fanboy. Mp60 Nero hybrid is definitely doable.
Yes, it will run continuously at 200ml/min. If this pump only fed a calcium reactor it would be worth it but to have it do it all is icing on the cake.
Can't wait to get this, and complete my ecotech family, of radion, vortech, and vectra (not really helping out the reeflink, kinda making it obsolete lol). Been waiting for sometime. Super psyched to see what else ecotech is going to let Mobius run in the future. I hope they'll let they're chips power non ecotech devices as well. They did allude to that in some interviews. I'm lucky that my fuge lighting is an Ai prime fuge light, and they said that Mobius should power these shortly (if it doesn't already) as well, Aqua illumination being their sister company.
super silent when running slowly, mega loud when it's running full speed, such as in water change situation. BUt most of the time you will never hear them
