I think 2000s models just raised the bar so high that no other generation of models will ever be able to top them. They were and always will be the most beautiful and the most talented.
Yep... Most of them got exclusive contracts back then.. And.then they all clash on either channel valentino JEAN PAUL or DIOR shows.. Like they were all neck to neck in terms of demands..
2008 was the best era for versace and fashion in general ! the clothes were beautiful, the shows were amazing (music, inspiration, mood... ) and last but not least, the girls !! back in 2007/2008 models knew how to walk not like in today's shows. 2oo8 best period ever !
I agree, the late 00's were honestly the best fashion wise! The model's may not ALL have been beautiful but they were still better than most we see today and most of all, they could walk!
Half these girls look so timid I'm yelling at them while watching. You're in Milan for Versace, why are you eyes downcast and why do you get weird when you pass the camera, awkwardly shying away? Also these girls stomp onto a bent scary leg just out in front of themselves which makes so many walks look ridiculous. Majority of these girls can't power stomp or glamour glide when they walk. They walk like they're afraid of stepping out onto a point shoe. Why are some of them wilding swinging they're arms. It's not in a powerful or gracious way, it's pent up, uneasy and high strung. I mean, at least they don't baby step and look like Kendall.
baby blues Funny, I look at the walks of these models and I see zero personality - just like the models of today, so I agree with you on that point. They mostly look and act like bored teenagers to me - utterly expresssionless, walking like they just have to get from point A to point B, no stop turn and pose, not engaging with the audience or the camera . These people are just kind of looking off into the distance or directly in front of them, like they’re a little spacey and mentally out of it. If anyone wants to see real runway performances, you have to go back to the 1980s and 1990s. Legends like Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Tatiana Patitz, Claudia Schiffer, Iman, Beverly Johnson, Christy Turlington, Najda, Kate Moss, Karen Mudler, Nasmeen Guari, Nikki Taylor, and others. They were true performers who brought the clothes and the art to life for the audience. I miss that.
Jessica just stops living in the past and accepts the fact that in that moment they slay the runway. It was another time, maybe even the music for their shows was a little better. No one denies the fact that the era of top models were better, but at the end of the 2000s we had the new top models, these girls knew how to walk, sell us fantasy and give us editorial photos.
Well we had daria opening and closing 3 Versace shows during vlada Versace era, then Tanya opening 2, lily opening one, Natasha opening one which is understandable since they were bigger than her so she should’ve opened at least either the 2010 shows or ss 2011 :(
