ABOUT US:
Hello! I’m Vivienne, the châtelaine of a small 19th century neo-Renaissance castle in the Loire Valley of France, which I share with my delightful (and wonderfully funny!) husband, Simon, our daughter, and -whenever possible- lovely friends and family.
This is not our first chateau! 23 years ago, we bought a much larger castle nearby, which we loved with all our hearts. However, nearly 2 decades, many happy memories, countless renovations, and several small fortunes later, we made the very difficult, empty-nesting decision to downsize. With great luck and perseverance, we found our current petit château, which we are now decorating and updating with love, humour, comfort, and -of course- antiques and art!
We adore France and its many unique facets: its people, culture, landscapes, wine, food, art, and history. We also love being surrounded by châteaux, both public and private, which we can explore together! After 20 years here, we have learned many things about living in France, renovating châteaux, and appreciating the extraordinary riches surrounding us. We originally decided to make these videos as a way to share our lives with our loved ones worldwide during the pandemic lockdowns. However, we soon realised that many others are at home alone, and it is our privilege to open our home to you, our new friends. We hope you will join us on our adventures in this exceptional location, and we look forward to sharing a little Château Love!

Your costumes were so impressive, absolutely spectacular! You both looked so radiant and beautiful. All you needed was a bottle of champagne and two glasses under your skirt, so you wouldn't have to wait in that champagne line. What a night and you made it to sunrise! your makeup looks amazing. the costumes are fantastic and you look like you were able to move around in them, I always rip the costumes I have bought. so much fun and wish we had something to go to like this to attend. Simon's brooch was cool! I love love love seeing all the other costumes and the sites of Versailles. I usually don't like fireworks anymore, but I think I would love to see them while standing in a garden of Versailles with the music and everything, spectacular! Thanks for sharing!

It was absolutely beautiful at Versailles but I wouldn’t want to be there in the heat in those clothes for hours. We always go in September or early October. In the grandest setting, a masked ball did unfold. With disco tunes to savour and outfits rather bold. The strobo lights kept flashing and wigs became undone, the crowds were in a frenzy, enjoying all the fun. Infused with flowing champagne, the revellers gave way, snogging in the bushes, quite merry all the way. King Louis would applaud them, this way his heart‘s desire, just party to the fullest and set the crowds on fire. 👑👑 Simon does know how to pick a ball and Vivian is constantly on top of the wardrobe. 👏🏻👏🏻 You are the dream team for elaborate festivities. 🎭

Vivienne, you and Simon are perfection personified in your beautifully hand made costumes. - And from a former hairdresser, great wig styling too Vivienne! You are so talented and Simon is such a good sport in enjoying the dressing up occasions, you both always look fabulous and ‘just the part!’ Versailles set the scene both in daylight and night with those beautifully romantic gardens that really came to being spectacular in the night lights. I must admit I was a bit taken aback by the modern/futuristic theme for the ball but I’m sure it made for a lot more dancing than Minuet etc would have done?😅 It seemed to have a Cirque du Soleil vibe about it. What an amazing experience it must have been, and once again, your costume creations were incredibly skilled and made you both look simply beautiful ! And yet, I was expecting some elegant dancing to some music by Lully, and the loud modern hits and strobe lighting at times felt rather jarring against the historical surroundings and the ornate costumes of the dancers. At least, we could almost smell the citrus trees and after all, it was only a modern make believe.

This is Grandma from Texas. I found y’all from Stephanie Jarvis channel. I’m sure it was a lovely evening. From my perspective from way over here in Texas is that y’all put on more classic parties. I appreciate the heart and soul you put into everything you do and that y’all are the BEST at keeping it authentic. They should have let y’all plan the evenings events. You costumes were the best. You both are so fantastic! Such fun and it was truly dreamy. Loved how you both made it through and kept up with the best. LOVED the costumes and you certainly do well with them. The wigs as well. Simon has such a sense of humor and yet speaking the truth at the same time. LOL Such a lovely night for this too! It worked out perfect! Thank you for allowing us to join you, in our own ways.
