Huskies fan here. Your offense will look and feel different. Grubb was the mastermind behind our offense. Just try to manage your expectations. :) You do have a talented coach though. Thats for sure.
Great content. Our QB could not make those reads fast enough. So similar to the clip at 11:10, we are going to use the wheel as a lead blocker for the slip combing from behind.
It does happen really quick. Some teams have been running a snag instead of a bang 8 from the outside WR. We are going to mess with it and see which one we feel better about. Let me know how it goes for you. Would love to see some clips.
Ya know, nobody knows how Rees structured the offense or coached the reads. Alabama ran a "check with me" offense. Some years they are signaling in the read but not always. Lane did. I don't think Sarkisian did. I am suspicious about how much coaching he got from OBrien or Rees. Both were trying to shove him aside. Neither had good track records as coordinators. Rees particularly. It's obvious now that Rees was trying to get Buchner the job until the USF game when everyone outside the program found out Buchner couldn't play and Rees had hamstrung the offense giving him reps when he should have been serving gatorade. Personally I would have fired him at halftime of the USF game. It's probably why he is a TE coach. DeBoer is the first good offensive coaching Milroe has gotten. The whole Milroe can't read defenses narrative is kinda lazy. I'll agree he holds the ball too long. I'll agree he needs to get better with his feet and timing on short throws. Those 2 coaching points can be leveraged at about every 1st year starter. He was usually throwing it to the right guy even on his misses. It didn't help that the center couldn't snap and he was usually throwing on third and long.
All really good points. Will be fun to see how he progresses with a coach that has a really good track record at multiple levels with many different skill sets at QB.
@coachescaviar8898 Bud Elliott took a look into DeBoers previous offenses. IIRC he had 8 seasons where the QB was the #1 or #2 rusher. I have a feeling we are gonna see Milroe used as at the least a strong rushing theat to take away the +1 for the running backs. If teams don't respect it, he is going to get some carries until they do.
Everyone saying we Bama have more talent than Washington had last year is stupid. They had the best o line last year best 4 receivers in college football a solid RB and the Heisman trophy runner up qb. To say we have more talent is premature thinking. We may have a more talented all around roster but I'd rather have talent and experience
Great point! Those WR's along with Penix can make up for a lack of talent in a couple of other areas. Those WR's weren't as highly regarded coming out of high school as most of the WR's from Alabama so I hope that they can develop them as well as they did at Washington.
@@pete49327true but he's also 12-2 vs ap top 25 teams.... 5-0 vs SEC equal teams..... a coach with a great mind that's now got some of the top players in the nation up n down the roster, bama should be fine. Will they go undefeated? No probably not but they shouldn't be worse then 10-2
@@pete49327Dude Washington had the best o line last year best 4 receivers in college football a solid RB and the Heisman trophy runner up qb. To say we have more talent is premature thinking
Sec don’t have Sanford, Colorado, Arizona state, Oregon State, Washington state and California because easily Vanderbilt can beat either one of those schools
I just hope Jalen can make the right reads & get the ball out to where it needs to go on time. Thats all im concerned about, the rest will take care of it self.
