It was a telling race in Spain, with Verstappen taking the win away from Norris despite qualifying behind the McLaren. It was a sign of what will hopefully become a competitive rest of the season to come.

Lando and Mclaren have lost and could have won all the races since Miami, and that’s not even a stretch. You can see the difference clearly between a very talented F1 driver and a generational talent, that Niki Lauda described as the talent of the century.

No. It's just that Max has waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more experience being at the front and fighting for first place in a F1 car. Norris and Russell are for the first time experiencing this. You can't really compare them like that.
@charleswilfred6463

@@gundamzerostrikeMax won in the RedBull in 2016 in his first race with the team while having a Ferrari chasing him till the end. @@charleswilfred6463 I'd say it's more about the teams as a whole. Max is the difference make on-track, but Red Bull as a whole is a well-oiled machine with their strategies and pitstops being on point throughout the whole race. McLaren is still rediscovering that side.
@daarom3472
@daarom3472 4 дня назад
@@tuffmanchannelI'd say its about the driver. Russell and Norris are very quick but Max has a machine mind. Zero emotions and just methodically destroys the opposition. The frame that Max only now "proves" he's this good is ridiculous to begin with. Anyone could see from 2015 onward that he was special. He had an upper midfield car until 2021 and made it count at the first time of asking. He has broken all possible records over the last few years and finished on the podium in like 95% of the races with the vast majority of those being wins.

@@daarom3472 Definitely the most impressive driver to me last year. Very boring to watch, but that's just because of how damn fast and methodical he is. His personality also demands the very best from his team, which is part of the reason why Red Bull is such a strong team. Max has been a level above Lewis for several years now, but you can really see it when he is winning these races in the second fastest car. The locked in engine advantage champion is certainly very good, but max has been doing things Lewis has not been able to do for years now in terms of consistency and turning around race weekends while being on the back foot. I am mixes on how I feel about Perez. On the one hand he only finished 8th. On the other he stopped one more than almost everyone else and climbed back up to 8th, essentially making up roughly 20 seconds. While it can be debated that he should not be qualifying so far down the grid, I don’t think anyone else advanced 3 positions during the race. With what we are seeing lately, I do not think Max is sandbagging when he says Red.Bull doesnt have the technical advantage any more. Max isn’t cruising to victory any more. You can see it when he gets out of the car. He is having to push and he’s having fun. I think if you swapped Lando and Max in their cars Max would be faster and Lando slower. Just here to remind everyone that just because Max is winning by 10 seconds instead of 100 doesn't mean that he no longer has the fastest car. He still does, it's just simply less dominant. He pulled 1s gap on lap 1 and then also said in the post-race conference that he was just running below what the car could really do so he could preserve the tires. Don't be fooled. The only thing that will prove Max's mettle is by having a known quantity in the other seat that's allowed to race him with equal machinery and opportunity. If you can't accept that's true, you're simply part of the Max cult.

Also there was no reason for him to go all out yesterday, and unlike the always extremely bias British media; Verstappen was in total control yesterday. Not to mention last season Verstappen "sacrificed" pole various times to ensure they had the proper set up for the race. I get that many are as thirsty as can be, but I think it way to early to tell, not to mention Lando & McLaren still got a lot to proof. Although I will give Lando his flowers if he wins a race, for the kind of respect people seem to demand for Lando simply got to be earned over an entire season. Just as it goes for any athlete in any other sport, even Barcelona in during the heydays with Messi got beaten once in a while , which didnt met the clubs who beat them didn't deserved it; but again for the kind of respect people are demanding all of sudden; you got beat the champ over an entire season.

Have I missed something, why is everyone saying McLaren has the faster car now? I mean sure they’re right there with RB but I’d say they’re pretty much inseparable at the moment. Lando was pushing like crazy and closing to Max but also struggled in dirty air, and trying to catch Max in that car right now is almost impossible, look at the gaps he comfortably pulls out when leading. Looks incredibly evenly-matched currently and I’m very excited for this summer’s lot of races!

Lando said it himself

No, in the last few races, the RB is certainly not the fastest car. Redbull has definitely got it wrong somewhere. Max is outdriving that car.

The data shows it. Lando said "we had the fastest car" and Max said: "we didn't have the fastest car" at the end of the race. Literally, they both said that. Given more 10 laps, Norris would be able to pass Max.

@@gundamzerostrike although i agree that mclaren has the fastest car even if its marginal, theres no such thing as give 1, 2 or 10 laps. The race laps is set from the beginning if A or B driver couldn't pass theres no "ifs" or "buts", its over.

@@elChirrinChirriondelDiablo My dude, I said that as example to point out how Norris' car was faster. In lap 51 the difference was 6 seconds. By the end of the race the difference was 2.2 seconds. So, as you can see, according to Math, Norris had a faster car. Again, according to Math, given a few more laps, Norris would end up ahead of Max. Was I saying the race was too short and they should have more laps? No. That's just you imagining things. You need to work on understand basic logic.

I am curious as to what parts of his personality you don't like. During the race he is super competitive and can be a bit heated, but off-track he comes across as a relaxed down to earth guy. He isn't a show pony, doesn't like celebs and dress up parties. He just likes to race

love how you still rate him but people can't comprehend someone not liking another persons personality.
