@moofey, I'm a young longtime fan of Mario RPGs, but up until now, I never had Super Mario RPG, and man I am absolutely delighted with pure child-like joy. The battle music is a straight-up bop and the overall soundtrack is indubitably legendary, and why wouldn't it be? Yoko remastered it and she did the original soundtrack! She also composed the music for Kingdom Hearts, so its a given that this/her music would be avant-garde. I'm SO THANKFUL that Nintendo decided to remake this masterpiece alongside Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.

thats cause theyre not a requirement to succeed at the attack, they just add benefits. since most attacks will still function at a base level even if you entirely miss, they can afford to make the action commander harder

It was a lot easier in my memory. They must've done something in the remake like narrowing/changing up the timings entirely, else it's the 3D aspect of the game or something. I don't know, it's definitely something.
