yea ive been through thousands of youtube pros semi pros mixing demos but yours i get excited about the most ! ...you allow us to experience the saturation in a unique way
Thks a lot Dan , really , it really motivates ! Ya know i love compression and saturation , it really translate energy in an unik way !! Thks for watcing and for the kind words , again it really boost my motivation ...
Thks and glad ya 're feeling it .... and i edited the video because it was so long , but at the end so many time i say to myself : "zo ya need to shorten content" but my respect for the art and the work of the dev , is bigger than my wish to gain audience ... we can't cover professional tools in a 10 min video , period !! Thks for watching and for the kind words , it really motivates , seeing people that are looking for knowledge and mastering of their craft ....stay curious and give time some time , the resulyts will be here without even noticing them !!
Thks Dan for the kind words , and you nailed it like crazy with "juicy" , this should be the title of the video !!! ahaha Thks for watching and sharing your thougths !!
Indeed , i was also surprised (and not so in fact .. lol) that i've found zero review ... I hope this one enougth , if needed i can adress some requests in another video more direct on sound manipulation ... Thks for watching !!
what a beast and tutorial man! i bought it a while ago and now I am 100% sure did the right choice! I bought it mainly for the HP filter band, it blew me straight away! thanks!
Solid purchase ya made here , the HPF is indeed a beast , but like the rest in fact , the overdrive section took me by surprise , i said to myself giving that we had all those points with sat and fm , is it really needed , but man it sound superb ... I had to edit the video because it was too long lol but i'm super frustrated because i'm , today , like damn i should tried this , and this , showed this , ect ... Thks for watching and sharing your thougths !!
@@ZozillaThaGreat indeed, after you started slowly building all the blocks together from beginning between eq, fm and saturation until the end, it made sense as a whole and sounded really great in the end, well done! really surprised also by the natural compression and the perceived loudness you managed to get from an 'eq'!
Exact , i was talking about in Geaspace , basically someone asked me to compare this with a regular advanced EQ and i basically replied that this one does things in a diffrent way (as you pointed out , for exemple sat & FM versus dynamic eq on a regular eq) and most important in a MORE MUSICAL and ANALOG (close) WAY !!! My choice for the sound ya hear was eaxctly to show that , raw unprocessed analogish sounds : do we preserve or enhance the sound or do we "sanitise" the sound as with a lot of digital eq's ;)
Thks Resoundsound for your feedback , don't know if ya know my channel , but as i always say , i review stuff that really are something imho worth trying and using , not systematically last releases to make views ;) This might be my fav Vertigo release , and in conjonction with the VSC 2 , it's hard to beat on busses and master !! Everything in there breath pro , and i didn't even showed the preset manager witch is imho one of the best with the UAD one on the market !! Thks for watching and have fun !!! Keep me informed if ya make the jump ./ take your time and test in on everything (but you will find out that it can handle anything)
Lol one plugin review : 50 min ahahah imagine that lol Take your week Sherman ..... ahahah but yeah it has been requested several time , i'm def putting this in my top priority !! Thks for watching and for the kind words !!
Thanks for the video. I bought this one and very happy with, however I had a few instances when I successfully tried to replace it with VSE-2 in a session and was able to do that and it even sounded better. VSE-2 is still very good, it's easier to setup and tends to sound more natural than VSE-4. All this extra flexibility comes at a price. I also don't like the overdrive that much. But FM drive, the precise EQ, the All-pass - all of that is very impressive and useful indeed. Not to say that it's pretty light on CPU for what it does.
Of Course VSE 2 is a beast , and imho it's not redundant at all , each have different purpose , i take VSE 2 like it is , a polish finaliser or even on individual tracks i love its mids and it's light on cpu and never sounds bad ....imho VSE 4 is a must when material aren't controlled and are complex .... while VSE 2 need stuff to be a minimum handled prior its process , can't wait to see if vertigo update VSE 2 with 2 channels !! Thks for watching and sharing your views , and congrats on the purchase , you made a solid one , better go with few pro fx than with zillion 29 $ average ones lol
It really depends on what you have already , if your arsenal is already "fat" this might be kinda "redundant "with some tools , but if you don't have any equivalent , this tool is an absolute beauty , i've found myself using this more than VSE 2 (their other eq ) .
Take your time , test it and see if it brings something you love and use , approach plugins like Hardware , minimise their number and learn them well ..... it will benefit you in every aspect : creativity , fun , speed , quality .... the more time you learn tools the less time you rationalise their use during curial phase that are impacted badly by time constant . The beauty of this tools is that it answer several job in a superb way .
@@ZozillaThaGreat Thank you ! By the way, have you ever used sonnox, dmg audio, softube, UAD? I want to buy high-end line plugin especially like sonnox, but this Vertigo really attractive. So if you have ever used one of above them, could you give me a advice what is best for you personal?
All solid brand , sonnox is top notch , Uad my desert island , and softube console 1 for exemple is a pleasure to use and has a big impact in workflow and so decisions/results .. Dmg : i did tried its compressor witch is exellent , so is uhe presswerk in the same style ... I would say compression and distortion , uad is hard to beat , sonnox concept and sounds are pro level and unique in some case (claro and their last voca) and sounds superb ... also really help:workflow .Vertigo vsc 3 comp is a beast and often used here as well as this eq ...the drive unit less unless i want deep control over my distortion witch in this case is hard to beat !
I would like to know, how did you learn mixing? This video shows there is so much to learn, where to start without making it too complicated. How to know and learn, when to use which kind of plugin? Thanks
Marek , i think the start is to understand the art of sound , if youn produce it's diffret than to be a straight mixing engeener .... Then the key is to know WHY a sound is here , it's function , and so then you will be able to help him !!! If you're a good producer , you will know .... if you 're only a sound engineer , you will have to understand why the sound is here and "Listen to whta the track ask for" .... you don 't do what you want , you do what's needed , so listenning and understand the artistic direction goal is key (it s can done via producer discussions or simply your background as a sound listener ) . Take your time and do it step by step : first : great production , if so the rest will fallow in an easier manner , the gap bewteen production and finioshed product will be short !!
@@ZozillaThaGreat Sounds good, I'd like to mix only. I think I understand and know how to eq and compress, but to get all these sounds working together as a whole and not just sounding different is not that easy.
yeah exact , group process will always help , give time some time , play with your process , compare plugins , ect ...it's a way of working and having sonic prints in a fun way without , knowing you're actually progressing ;)
Acustica's have their fan base for a reason (good they do soound good) , i tried those deeply and never in a professional project i will use those , and for several reasons , they have some great plugins (usually EQ's /sat ) but compression isn't their strength ,and stability / operation is terrible ... (Acqua plugins) Now nevula with some 3rd party impulses is something solid ... At the end during rpofessional work , we don't A/B plugins , if something works superb on something , this is it , and for me this bad boy is simply smashing it , period ...the material i used their , raw , are hard to handle for any type of plugins (comp , eq , sat ) and it handle it like nothing ....
@@ZozillaThaGreat i think you haven’t tried Acustica’s stuffs in the last times,i hate their buggy stuffs times ago,now they have hands down the best plugins on the market. Try a demo of the new Tiger compressor,or try any eq and compare it to this one,i deeply test this vs Jade on synth and leads,i tried this vs Diamond eq on kick and drums,i tried the saturation of this compared to the Diamond Saturator. Night and day my friend, believe me,this is not an eq,this is a toy compared to the acustica audio stuffs. And now they are super responsive, less buggy, are really game changers
I did tried last versions of the core , i didn't tried Tiger .... but as i told you there's a static display to sound with there comp that i really don't like , Tim P got it right , not them imho ...
