Wearing barefoot shoes helped a lot with me. Obviously did foot exercises, but transitioning to barefoot shoes has been the best decision I’ve made so far. Only been wearing them a few days a week for the last month, but already feel a difference in my mobility.
@@corbinnelson1323 besides just wearing barefoot shoes while out and about, and making sure my feet don’t collapse in while doing exercises, I just followed Exercising Health’s feet exercise video. I still have “flat fleet”, but have seen small improvements.
@@tracydutton7577 shoes that don’t have arch support and have wide toe areas. This basically allows your foot to be in a barefoot position which has shown to be much more beneficial than “current day” shoes with the crunched toes and arch support
Bro on god, I thought I was the only one ever with this problem. Classmates used to make fun of my feet because of this and I just thought it was some kind of problem only I have, I’m glad that’s not the case though.
Been walking with a flat left foot since I was 8 years old and now I'm 31 trying to fix myself because I have this same problem smh. I totally screwed myself over for years by not going to a physical therapist in my teens or twenties. My knees literally collapse inward and I'm having lower back problems.
Me too.. I noticed the problem when I started to wear heels it were ugly on my feet and I tried to know the reason and it took me a years just to discover that this called over pronation.. I found this today 😅 and I do My journey to discover how to fix it
I have this issue on both sides and I can tell it's causing alot of other issues in my lower body (hip flexor pain, Achilles tendinitis, etc.) Definitely gotta address this first to help relief pain off my feet and hips
Great information here. Like you said in a comment below, flat feet don’t have to be a limiting factor. Strengthening hips & ankles can have profound benefits. Some great marathon runners with flat feet include: Saïd Aouita, Alan Webb, and Haile Gebrselassie -considered the greatest long distance runner of all time.
🙏 I strained my neck while doing pull-ups. It stained in 3rd set of around 4-5 reps. My scapula depression isn't strong enough, in top part of the movement. I am doing pull-ups since a month after 4-5 years gap. Thanks.
Thank you....really looking for solutions to my knock knees & flat foot....I cannot run any more & it is so depressing....going to get your app....will keep in contact.
If your serious best thing to do is privates with me. No way to guarantee your doing it correctly by yourself. Plus there a little tweaks with everyone to piece the puzzle together and get fixed :)
Been trying a lot of excercises and I have to say this video is the one that helped me the most, thanks to you I was able to finally squat without feeling any knee pain afterwards. There's still a long way to go but I'm very optimistic about adding this to my regular routine.
How severe pronation and valgus knees + hip hike and rheumatoid arthritis I really need help with walking because my feet cave in and very hard on my shoes and feet
Not sure why you would train the adductors for an issue with valgus knees. Not saying it's wrong, just that I don't understand that approach at all. Could you elaborate?
so was he forcing his knees to go in or are his feet still pronated? Because i can forcefully hold my feet upright to have an arch but when i relax my foot my ankle rolls back in. Do i have to hold it whenever i walk or will exercising it make it naturally arched?
Your foot has a natural pronation which shouldn’t go past 15 degrees if its not giving you problems and doesn’t look like a problem dont worry about it. You know a pronation is super bad when you see it
Hi , I wanted to say i have flat feet . Top of it my left leg caves in . I am advised to wear braces for my left leg. Please do suggest what kind of braces I should go in for. Will follow the exercise briefed by you as well
Amazing info. I have flat penguin feet and completely flat foot. My ankle bone doesn't even stick out. This video makes me wonder whether these exercises could actually resolve all the other skeletal problems I have from my hips down or if not everything can be fixed with exercises.
based on the thumbnail, should my knees look like that as i stand, walk and run - should my knees be pointing somewhat outward? some people would tell you that “neutral knees” are pointing close to forwards.
I'm not a physio but that thumbnail looks messed up. I don't think its anything to try to emulate. I only clicked the video to see how someone ended up with their knees pointing in the wrong direction.
I'm going to try my best to do these exercises because I cant even run (my knees hit each other and I risk to trip) so ill tell you if thet work thanks a lot I have hope
@@johnlee3819 I don't see any Improvement estethically, but my balance did Improve I can walk almost normally without risking to trip so often Definitely recommend to try them
How exactly do you do your cable setup? You put one chain around the carabiner at the cable and then it has two endings and you put one ending in each carabiner for the foot attachment? But somehow there is even more chain near the foot attachment... Would really appreciate help.
So is that whole technique ok for a females Q - Angle? Would anything need to be changed? I found I wasn't fully feeling it in my glutes with this technique.
I don't know wht was it ?at the tym of video 6:32mints 🤔wht we call it (name of the thing that is used in exercise 6:32mints. Last exercise start from 7:18that is squat. Its not possible for me to do by standing in that position becoz of knock bones n flat feet thn hw I can do this one 🤔🤔😭 If anybody knows the name of this chain type instrument thn tell me the name of this 🙏🙏
I wonder if this would apply to me… 53 and I was runner til last year when plantar fasciitis attacked my feet & began causing knot knees & knee pain. PT put me on bed rest with loads of PT but now the pain is so bad I can no longer run (and gained 30 lbs). Just had hip MRI & waiting on results but ortho believes it’s all in my hips :-(
Hey I’m currently doing the rehab app myself & started doing the exercises as shown. I also have anterior pelvic tilt but was wondering if I should be arching my back slightly in the glute knee drop exercises to feel it more in my glutes or Is this not necessary? Just from your anterior pelvic tilt video you said about popping your hips forward & arching your back to get deep into the muscle it’s confusing because spinal alignment isn’t discussed in your app thanks :)
Good question and points. As long as you are doing the knee drop along with the glute fly. It will be fine. Pass those tests and watch the end of glute fly video i talk about how if your arching your back, your still creating internal hip rotation by tilting hips forward as u lift. Also test your abs it will have an affect, but not the end all be all like people say for the ant tilt.
If I lift my toes off the floor, it fixes. But when they touch the floor, my arch is different and then knees cave in. So where is my problem coming from?
my right knee points bit away and my tight foot actualy pints away, how to fix it when i try to squat with both legs pointing compl forward my right hip burns
I am suffering with flat foot and having problem of overpronation, what shoild i do. And, also i live in india. Sir can you give me some solutions regarding it. THANK YOU.
Why always isolate muscles in training? Why not use a natural movement to train certain muscles with others that play as a team in such a natural movement?
I have been struggling to find answers to what has been going on with my gait and feet. I have seen soo many people trying to find out what is going on and I even ended up having surgery on my right foot(tarsal coalition), and I am still having issues and have no answers. I am pretty sure now that I am overpronating causing flat feet. Not sure but thinking it could be related to something in my hips maybe(hip flexors, TFL, glutes, etc) I am in desperate need of help and some answers. Do you have any ideas of what I could do to figure this out.
Hi, I watched your videos and I liked them very much. Very useful information. Thanks. I have a few questions. My son is 13 years old. He has been playing basketball since he was 8 years old. He is a licensed player in the club. He loves basketball and wants to be a professional player in the future. He is also very successful in swimming. His feet are a little slow in basketball. He wants to increase his speed and jump. But there is a flat feet( over pronate) problem. It is not a completely flat sole, but when you lift your foot, a pit is formed and it flattens when you press the ground. As far as I've heard, there is this problem with Useyin Bolt in running and kevin durent in basketball. My question is, does this problem prevent him from running, speeding and jumping? Can this obstacle be overcome? Can he play in the professional basketball league with a flat sole? Should he use insoles that will create a foot pit in his shoes? We would be very happy if you could answer all these questions.
I appreciate then interest and questions. The problem is, it is impossible to give advice and be accurate with out seeing your son in person. Or in this day and age video call can be an affective alternative.
Wrong. When it tightens it pulls the slack up and straightens leg. It caves inward when it is weak adductor to access and put more pressure on the quads for support.
Why the hell would you want to strengthen the adductors when it is the adductors that compensate for weak quads. You should strengthen the external rotators and glutei medius... Trying to sell his app rather than helping the community
My brother has cerebral palsy. Hes 12 and really overweight. He has inward ankles and knees and also weak lower back with overstretched achilles and calf muscle. Also hes lower back is weak. He can't walk because of this. We tried everything exept these types of workouts what do you think should we try it? No pressure or responsibilityes on you though
Hi, a physiotherapist here. A cerebral palsy is a very different issue, and way more complex than this. Some muscles are spastic and retracted and need to be relaxed and stretched, the antagonist would most likely be weak and overstretched... His nervous system needs to learn the proper movement patterns and postural schemes... and it's not that simple like doing a couple of exercises. It always depends on the person, but in some cases, the spasticity and retractions are so intense than they need to use botilimic toxin (botox) to treat them. In other cases they even use surgery to elongate them. Sometimes they change tendon insertions of some muscles to improve or just allow some joints movements... I mean, it's a very complex issue, and I don't know what do you have exactly tried, nor what choices and resources you have there, but if you can, I'd suggest a neurologist, obviously, but also a physiotherapist specialized in neurology. Anyway, the progress of each case is very variable, some cases progress better while some others not much. Anyway, I don't think you find a solution on youtube, but I understand the situation.
@@isihernandez9752 appreciate you taking your time. Yes we tried botox like 10 times and it didn't work also we tried the surgery which made situation much worse i think he just has to grow up he is 12 and can't think about that kind of stuff he just plays games and vlogs on RU-vid. He's a little smartass boy but is very lazy. I feel bad for him and if you can tell me if there's any other ways I'll be really happy. Thank you
@@moreplates4782 well, the main part of the treatment is physiotherapy. Botox and/or surgery are used in some cases, but physiotherapy is always essential. Other than that, there's not much you can do, except some orthopaedics and technical aids if they are required. Concerning physiotherapy, if it's possible and there is someone avaliable by your area, it's always better if he/she is specialized in neurology and masters methods like Bobbat, Vojta, Perffeti... It's not that a non-specialized physiotherapist can't treat this issue at all, but there is a big difference. On the other hand, the attitude of the patient is also important. I don't know if your brother has some cognitive impairement as well as motor one, if he is frustrated or if, as you said (and you obviously know better), he's just a lazy 12 years old boy. But his cooperation is essential in any case. Anyway, I don't think there's much more to do, except what I mentioned before. There are different ways of doing it, but that's it, essentialy. Don't expect miracles, anyway, they don't exist. Cerebral palsy is a complex thing, and as I told you before, even with a proper treatment, some people have a decent progress while some others don't. It depends on the degree and extension of the brain damage. And even in the best cases, it's always a long process and there will always be sequelles left. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful, but the best thing you can do is find a neuro specialized physiotherapist by your area, and be prepared for a long term treatement. I don't know where are you from and if you have a decent public health care system there or if you have to rely completely on a private health system, and in this case, if you can afford it for long term. For me, as a public health care worker, it's very frustrating to see how in many places your health depends on your wealth. Hope it helps a bit anyway.
@@isihernandez9752 we live in Georgia below russia. And we have decent healthcare here but it's bit expensive for what you get. About his motor skills he's really smart and has no issues can speak well. Has a great imagination. He's bit emotional though. Only thing i notice is that he is bad at math any other than that he cam remember stuff that i don't even know existed. Also reflexes are alright when we were at doctors he fell of the tall chair but landed on all fours. Doctor said it's not normal for cerebral palsy to have such a reflexes. Either way we still try to do everything and i am going to tell my parents about what you said. Really appreciate your answer. Even littlest things help. Thank you 💕
@@moreplates4782 I'm glad I've been a bit helpful, even if it's just a little orientation. I hope your brother can make some progress. PS: I think your brother has better reflexes than me. If I fall from a tall chair, I'll probably break my neck... 😂😂
