You are amongst the many reactors who have been brought to tears by Pau. She even does it to herself occasionally. Last week at the Pepsi Centre in Mexico City, she sat at a Grand Piano and sang two songs. She had previously said she would never perform the second song “ Breathe” live as it was too emotional. When what seemed like all 8,000 fans began to sing along with her, she was moved to tears and had to cut it short by a few bars. Pure raw emotion.
Pau did this as part of an Instagram challenge. Her fans suggested it, she did some practice, and within a few hours she uploaded this version. The piano is their home instrument, which is famously (and I think wonderfully) slightly out of tune which has added a lot of color to a number of performances by them. This version, and Haley Reinhardt with Post Modern Jukebox, are my favorite covers of CREEP. At The Warning's concert two weeks ago in Mexico City, Radiohead's original version was played during the pre-concert soundtrack. The entire audience sang along with the recording. Lovely moment.
Pau is a force of nature. She composes most of The Warning songs in much the same way on the same piano in this video. Very few singers can put a cry in their voice like Pau does. She can rip your heart out with that rasp.
This will likely not be the last time you will get emotional with Pau or Dany singing. There’s at least 4 other (original) songs that will do the same.
Absolutely wonderful rendition!! This song was recorded raw from a cell phone, without edits, without autotune, without tricks just a giant talent! Paulina is an amazing drummer, songrwiter and person! Viva The Warning!! ⚡⚡⚡
Welcome to the club. They have a very special way of bringing tears to so many, and often it’s not necessarily a sad song. You just feel you’re in the presence of real artists that give their whole selves to every song they do. There is no fake rockstar personas. They’ll come out and play Metallica while wearing pink sandals and a Hollister sweatshirt and do a good enough job that Metallica puts the video up on their website. They are the real deal and their humbleness, passion and unbelievable songwriting brings tears to us all.
Unfortunately for me, I only met the band The Warning 4 months ago and I feel embarrassed about it. Daniela, Paulina and Alejandra represent a breath of happiness in such a troubled world. During this period, Paulina has already made me cry more than all my ex-girlfriends combined... She is beautiful, sensitive, emotional, fun... A girl who was born with the soul of a poet and with the divine talent of holding our hearts with her hands little and leave us moved and fragile.. The only artist who made me have such feelings was Freddie Mercury... My reaction to this video was the same as yours, I cried like a child... Creep has always been one of my favorite songs. ..
Pau (POW!) is just as deadly in front of a piano as she is behind the drums, which is a heck of a statement. Check out their song Revenant live at Teatro Metropolitan to hear another killer ballad from Pau.
Don’t worry, happens to everyone (heck, happens to me every time I watch it). & as you go thru The Warning it won’t be your last. It’s just what they do. Hell, just Dany’s guitar work on ‘Show Me the Light’ gets me every time.
I’m not ashamed at all to admit that these brilliant young ladies have brought tears to my eyes more than once. This, Breathe, and When I’m Alone turn me into a blubbering idiot. Black Holes has a very deep personal meaning to me so it’s rare that I even can listen to it, but it’s another example of these ladies having old souls and being able to empathize with people and the different situations we are all in. Great reaction, genuine and heartfelt ❤
Well Sherri I'm with you I'm 71 year old male and I cried like a baby. Paulina can do it and so can her sister Daniella and it won't be long before Alejandra put you to tears❤❤❤
And there you have it, Pau doing what Pau does, conveying all emotions through her voice. Besides being an amazing drummer, composer and lyricist (together with her sisters, but she's often the idea woman) - she sings leads on 25 - 30 % of TW songs and she will often bring tears to your eyes.
Don’t worry about being emotional, I blubbed like a baby when I first heard it! Tears still well up even now 😁 Lovely reaction, shows your appreciation for her! 🌹 Liked and subscribed 🥰
Crying with The Warning is par for the course. Never thought I would ever shed tears with a rock band before. But this 5' 1" nuclear reactor behind the drums has a way to tug at our heart strings when she pours her soul on the keyboards or piano. An intellectually gifted poet and an emotional performer Pau has her listeners in tears with the ballads that she had composed over the past decade. On 28.10.2023 she broke down at Pepsi Center in Mexico City when 8000 fans joined her to sing Breathe. Here is a fan cam of the song that she had composed & produced on her piano at home when Lava Records asked for one more song at the last minute to complete their 3rd LP, Error. Her only caveat was that she would not be asked to perform Breathe live. However, at this landmark concert in Pepsi Center to celebrate the 1st decade of the band, Pau made an exception and gave us a beautiful moment of raw emotional connect with her fans. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7wrsU7Z7gD0.html
Great reaction - Pau really can convey emotional content!! I always love it when people are exploring the many dimensions of The Warning - they really should be a worldwide household name
You are not the first nor will be the last to have tears in their eyes over a Pau song and her vocals. She is incredible with how much emotion she can put into the song. Amazing and a great reaction.
Nice Reaction! Pau has several songs she wrote that she plays on piano and they will all bring out alot of emotion in the listener. I guess it's something about her voice and the emotion she puts into singing them. The first music they recorded was an EP called Escape The Mind and in 2015 they played a concert for their Catholic School Classmates and the title track is Pau on piano. Her other big ballad is Black Holes that she wrote when she was 13 and it is about addiction and she sings it from the viewpoint of the addict. It's amazing that a 13 yr. old could write such an emotional song about addiction.
The outstanding thing about this, which may be very surprising to those who don't know TW, is the fact that the talented protagonist is the band's drummer. This gives us a good idea of how special The Warning is!! Thanks and greetings from México!! 🇲🇽 🤘😁✌️
Who doesn't love a singing Drummer? Pau is so talented. If you want to hear her sing and Drum at the same time, I suggest "Dust to Dust" live at Teatro Metropolitan. That is the opening song to their concept Album Queen of the murder scene, which is a fantastic Album that tells a story. I would also suggest just checking out all 22 songs they put out from that Teatro Concert. They are all wonderful and the sound and performance quality is top notch.
I love this song and was so thrilled to see Pau ( drummer) who sings some of their songs as lead from behind the kit. She slays this and draws an emotional reaction from me every time I watch this. 🔥 I see the back story has been posted so I won't repeat it. All 3 sisters play piano and sing it's the bands superpower and their harmonies which is considered their 4th instrument. I enjoy your reactions of TW thank you. ⚡🔥
ahhh Sherry...you reacted the way so many of us reacted and still react when we first watched this cover by Pau. I always liked the original but Pau did something even the original didn't do. Pau connected with the lyrics and seemingly lived within them. She embodied the spirit behind each word, each feeling. There are some really great covers of Creep...but none that come close to actually portraying of the song and bringing out the emotions of the listener like Pau's version. Great reaction. Subbed.
OOOhhhhhh, that vibrato ! Since I heard Haley Reinhart's jazz interpretation of 'Creep' with PostModernJukebox, (link below) I try to view as many other covers as I can........it's as if all the artists try to outdo the others with their covers.......very interesting and fun musical exercise I think....... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-m3lF2qEA2cw.html
