Very Fast Masala Dosa Making by "The Dosa Master" of Chauta Bazaar: Indian Street Food, Surat, India

✓ It's about time that I shared with you my wife's "secret dosa place" in India. It's a stall located in Chauta Bazaar (which is a very busy Ladies Street Market in Surat, Gujarat, India).
In this video you can watch as the "Dosa Master" effortlessly makes many dosas, incredibly with so many customers to serve they still manage to serve up within a matter of minutes.
The mashed Potato Masala filling recipe ingredients typically includes some or all of the following: Boiled Mashed Potato, Tumeric, Onion, Mustard Seeds, Ginger, Chillies, Cumin Seeds, Curry Leaves, Chopped Onions, Carrot, Dry Kastoori Methi.
All are served with Sambar and a Coconut Chutney.
We love eating food that is blessed by hand and human touch and further energised and charged by positive thoughts.
Making them freshly to order and serving them piping hot within a matter of minutes.........delicious restaurant quality food; but at affordable street food prices - with no service charge added !!!
Unlike some places there is nothing hidden and no secret to the recipe because everything is made in full view of customers.
A special thank you to the Master Dosa Chef and all of the restaurant team who welcomed us and graciously allowed us a privileged glimpse into their kitchen to do the videoing.

Eating Dosa in North India is like eating Aallo paratha and sarso kaa saag in South India.Obviously the taste of Dosa is not good in North

This is not original Masala Dosa. Or Mysore masala dosa. If you prepare the dosa batter at home , when you pour it on the tawa you can't press / mix something on the batter. They add something else to the batter . It seems.

The north indians say this as dosa with different kind of names. In tamil nadu we have Dosai, Roast ( bigger and thinner), oothapam and masala dosa . With smashed potatoes and turmeric and basic ingredients... I am 40 and travelled many countries around world and eat non veg too....but now also I cant even eat this kind of dosai and still feel surprised how they look and love it... so ..india has many states and different languages and different dosai. Let them eat happily

Envious you can try all these street foods without getting sick. I on the other hand have a really sensitive stomach and get violently sick every time I try eating out in Gujarat Borada. I just stick to home cooked meals while my mouths salivating watch my family tucking in to the delicious street food. Funny thing is I was actually born there.

Sister, Thank you veryuch for your comment. I did on previous visits to India get some upset stomach, but worked out it was primarily due to the red or green chillies once they are omitted (or used sparingly) I seemed to be okay. The other thing to look out for is the standard of hygiene and fast turnover........there were many times when I refused to eat from some places even at the risk of offending some people. I got ill after eating wedding food in 1999; but then I was a bit naive about the hygiene practices. But now "going behind the scenes" allowed me to gauge the cleanliness levels. For the sake of this video I had confidence to eat because the food was piping hot. I did remain very picky about where I ate in India if trying something like Pani Puri I'd literally ask about 10 time if they're using filter water etc. I wish I could have tried much more of the cold foods (such as Baraf Gola, or some more of the Chaats but avoided them because they were cold. (I haven't made the video yet, but I visited a market in Baroda and did eat Pani Puri from a food stall thereand thankfully was okay). I hope you get to taste food back in the desh, there's something special about the way it's made there and the taste. Best wishes.

It looks like any street in Birmingham or West London for that matter! Very colourful and interesting. The vendor works quickly and keeps his tawa clean between dosas, other Indian vendors ought to take note of this guy (especially those from Mumbai)..Thanks for posting..

Applying it adds additional flavour to the actual plain dosa (same as adding additional flavour to naan or chapatti) the bhaji taken away by the waiters serve the bhaji with the flavoured dosa
