I didn’t head your warning as I didn’t see it. I was scammed out of $440.14 dollars by a fake Steve Guttenberg on a Telegram app. They guy sounded legit but he just kept pushing that I won this amp with 2 stickers. I should have known right off the bat but I’ve never won anything in my life before. I became a patron sub messaged you what happened but so far you haven’t responded either. I should have known if you were doing a giveaway it would be on patron. So here I sit with a case of Covid-19 an feeling the fool. You probably won’t answer this either I guess I’ll give up on honest people because there are none.

Wow! Quite a staggering array of very narrow minded and misinformed views on this post! Firstly, last time I looked, South Korea is making some of the highest quality electronics on the planet.....why is made in America any better than made in S Korea? And by all accounts this is a world class speaker amp and headphone amp in one package. I just bought one so I must be an idiot too! But likely I can use the enleum to replace two tube based amps that are heavy, inefficient, get uncomfortably hot in summer, can be noisy and need tube management. No, I won't give up my tube amps, but the Enleum is an interesting product for a niche market. Who says $6250 for the enleum is crazy but $80,000 for Kondo is ok? It's all subjective. If you can afford it and it meets your needs....why not? Are we going to start pricing Amps by the kg? This amp has Bakoon DNA....who have made a number of very well reviewed Amps....so this isn't an amp from a new kid on the block....it has good form. Strange lots of folks are picking on Enleum....chord products are generally light and have nothing special component wise.....but I don't hear the same level of criticism about " the Dave" for example?

I just bought this amp after a couple of months of consideration; ended up doing a blind buy. I can tell you the AMP-23R has god-like authority over headphones and the spec sheet power ratings are drastically understated. Someone needs to do a power measurement on an APx555 to see what this thing can really push because it seems to be able to drive power hungry speakers with surprising ease. Clarity is amazing; since the amplifier gain stage is operating entirely in current mode, it seems to have an immense bandwidth, hence its speed i.e. ability to follow, highlight and delineate between every nuance in the input signal, with authority, is the best I've heard bar none, and I've heard quite a lot of amps.

I've had my Enleum 23R since mid December driving my Cornwall IVs. I love the sound of this amp. My system consists of an Aurender W20SE server/streamer, Holo May KTE DAC, Rega P10 turntable and Apheta 3 MC cartridge , Luxman EQ-500 phono stage and a Equi=Tech 2RQ power conditioner. Other amps that I've tried include an Audio By Van Alstine 600R (300 w/ch hybrid amp), McIntosh MC275 VI, Rogue Stereo 100 with Dark upgrades, and a Chinese 300B amp that's popular on Amazon. I'll take the Enleum over my own AVA 600R that is rated for 12 times the power of the 23R. The McIntosh MC275 v6 is a legendary amp (I used to own the v5) that cost about the same as the Enleum but the 23R makes it sound muddy and slow. The same goes for the Rogue and the 300B amp. The little nine pound 23R kicked the ass of 2 65lbs tube amps and my own 40lbs hybrid amp. I just laugh at people that say they want something more substantial. Oh, Steve is right about the 23R being a great headphone amp. I use it to drive my Susvara, Abyss 1266TC, Focal Utopia, and ZMF Verite. I haven't heard a headphone amp that I like better than the 23R and I've owned quite a few high end headphone amps.

But it’s not AN Kondo, it’s not Boulder, it’s not Karan, it’s not Jeff Rowland… and klipsch and high end is like, really? Let’s say it is, but then, how are you assessing this? By how accurate or how much you like it? Or is it just how much you paid for it, or how proud you feel. So far I only see names and names, so I am placing more names and more names and specially bigger names. So, didn’t you know what high end was based on what you commented as a reply to me? How have you found that you know what high end sound was when in many books Macintosh and Klipsch has no business in the high end. And I’m just teasing because AN Kondo sounds vastly different to Karan and vastly different to Jeff and vastly different to Nagra and… so, yeah… glad your are enjoying your sound. I bet it sounds fantastic. I bet you can enjoy it even if you come off your high horse.

I'm definitely a lover of small chassis components so this new amp really speaks to me. However, spending $6,250 for a product offering only a 2 year warranty from a manufacturer with no history of longevity and reliability is beyond scary and risky to me. Many years ago, I coveted owning an amp by GAS (Great American Sound). When I could finally afford one, the company was long gone. This says all you need to know about how I feel about buying expensive gear from new companies without a track record of being around for a minimum of 20+ years....like Linn, Audio Research, McIntosh, et al.

Being a happy Bakoon International amp owner and "fanboy" - the company behind the Enleum brand has been in operation since 2009. In principle I agree with you about always having to think twice about "longevity" - but in this particular case, I'd just advice you to listen to the amp first anyway. Or check out some of the many other reviews out there for this new AMP-23R. That should put your fears to rest.

What is in this that prevents a company like Schiit from producing something like this. Is the sound from high tech expensive parts, ingenious circuits, precise parts matching, or something else. Should I wait for patents to expire. Give us a hint.
@AT-wl9yq
@AT-wl9yq 2 года назад
I think its too expensive for what it is, but the parts and labor needed to build an amp like this is very high. I can only guess, but it probably costs around $1500 to $2000 to build (parts and labor). Schiit uses off the shelf parts, so building one of their integrated amps is much less costly. If they wanted to make an amp like this, they would have to charge a lot more money.

Are you sure you could? Furthermore are you sure it would offer actually better sound quality and I'm not talking about performance no I'm talking about quality of sound. Because that is known across the industry even by dyed in the wool objective engineers that designed these products measurements don't equate to sound. Also I assume it won't look anywhere near as good nor will it function as nicely. Two years ago I had the misfortune to buy off of Audiogon a custom built streamer from a guy who said it has the same quality as those multi thousand dollar streamers you'll get from Innuos but ended up being a technical nightmare. I could never get the network connection to work properly and music would start and stutter and stop and all I really did was save money but it ended up being pure crap. Repeated emails to him about the network connection kept going on and on about it was probably on my end something about the router perhaps or my networks space within my home causing connection issues, but I work in IT so I build and design and repair network infrastructure for a living and I am quite aware of any kind of issues in that regard and also how to repair them. No the true problem was related to whatever code he had written on the back end for the "software" to talk across the network. At the end of the day sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and pay the money to get the performance you want. I ended up buying an Auralic aries and sure it cost a lot of money but it works flawlessly it with no problems. So don't sit here and tell me that you could do better for less or that it would sound as good. No it wouldn't and it certainly wouldn't end up being a piece I would be proud to display in My Home.

Yes, but limited to subwoofers that use speaker level inputs. That type of subwoofer runs off the amplifier’s speaker connectors. had a chance to demo one locally (595), its good…but like steve mentioned, it was just another amp for me…the Enleum (bakoon) sounds more natural, yet lively, especially when the speakers start to approach sensitivity over 91 (1w/1m) or so.. also the Devilles are low excursion/stiff, I wouldn’t add anything that needs to control it more than what it already does so well naturally. You’re just artificially punching and stopping the woofer more… The 595, compared to the Enleum is a more flexible amp for folks who arent settled on what lies ahead in the future in their mains…. The Enleum (Bakoon) sound put me on a more focused path of what to look for should i ever change my speakers…my previous amps kind of left me uncertain to the next pairing. Enleum (Bakoon) doesn’t do this…it will be with me for a long time. If i can pull out the ‘my buddy…’ card too, (oem’s published his speaker reviews’ - not to mention an Ongaku amp collecting dust in his garage lol!) the Valvet gives the typical class A sound - whats new? Enleum is much aware of the Deville pairing. But thanks for the rec, no harm no foul! 👍🏼
