Very High, Very Fast: Teens Are Vaping Super-Potent Marijuana and Parents Are Often Clueless

Teenagers are participating in a dangerous trend that's sweeping the nation. A growing number of America's youths, even as young as 11 years old, are vaping THC, the ingredient in marijuana that makes a person "high." The most recent CDC figures available show more than one in five high school seniors vaped THC in 2020, which was a significant increase over prior years, and likely even greater today.
Many parents may know THC is the main psychoactive compound in marijuana but don't realize vaping it is much more potent than smoking a joint. Unlike typical marijuana cigarettes that contain 10% THC, today's new THC vaping devices can concentrate it to a staggering 95%.
Nora Volkow, M.D., director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse, told CBN News the high-content THC people are consuming can cause serious mental issues.

When you were 15 it was 1999 and THC levels were no where near where they are today, which is the message of this video. You can’t compare teens of 1999 and teens of today, two very different worlds. Yes, not all who smoke weed will share the same detrimental experiences but the symptoms are still present in a good portion of users.

@@medina4600 high thc marijuana (known as sinsemilla) certainly existed 1999, and concentrated extract also existed. It's called hash, and is one of the oldest commodities known to man. In 1999 there was a lot more "brick weed" on the market which means that the AVERAGE thc of the weed available was lower than today, but high thc marijuana has always been there, and was plenty easy for me to find as a teenager in the '90s. The ONLY difference today is that cartridge pens make it very easy and discreet to smoke concentrate (hash) anywhere at any time.

@@plutoplatters Adults need to be controlled by the government in all aspects of life. Even as adults, humans do not deserve any rights or any freedoms. We need to be told who we are allowed to marry and who we can reproduce with and how many times we can do that interaction, along with mandatory maximum number of children. Anyone violating the rule of having too many children, needs to have the government come and kill the child. We need a dictator and to live in a police state. That is the only way to keep our precious selves safe. Children can't be trusted. Adults can't be trusted. Put everyone behind bars. Prison for life. Or maybe... just maybe... cannabis isn't as big of a deal as the propaganda pushers want you to believe.

Cannabis has a huge number of medicinal values. Do people need a prescription to buy alcohol or tobacco? No. Since cannabis is not only safer, but considered medicinal AND recreational, then it shouldn't need a prescription either or else we need to put Alcohol and Tobacco on the Scheduled Drugs list and make them prescription only or completely banned.

@@careynorris9961 I know more than you. Do some research. THCA is the precursor to THC. THC is psychoactive, THCA is not. THCA is decarboxylated into THC either through a heat process or time. You could eat your fill of fresh plant and not have psychoactive effects if you avoid heat, fats, and citruses. For inflammation, skin disorders, and muscle cramps you can make a cream with coconut oil and essential oils. Apply this cream topically and the cannabinoids absorb directly into the muscle group without being processed through the blood stream avoiding psychoactive effects.

I think that this is propaganda against cannabis use. Although I can concur that there are individuals with problems when it comes to consuming cannabis, I've used an array of cannabis based products since I was 14. No issues whatsoever to my cognition, and I can stop at any time and have taken many many breaks within my 10+ years of consumption. Any psychoactive substance will affect someone differently, from sugar, to coffee, to alcohol (which has been legal for over a century and is much worse). Ultimately, the government should legalize, regulate, and tax the market appropriately in order to keep things out of the hands of people that are "at risk" due to their own biological personalities. The reason "at risk" use proliferates is because of big money interests such as the Pharmaceutical industry.

Not to mention weed has very real and uncomfortable physical addiction and withdrawal symptoms after prolonged use. You won’t be able to eat, sleep, or be in a good mood until high again. People will refute this because it makes them feel better about themselves, thinking that their obvious addiction is harmless.

I live in California where marijuana Vapes are highly regulated and the ingredients are not tainted with vitamin E. Despite this, I have had numerous breathing problems every time I start vaping again, which at times I think is worse than when I was smoking Marijuana. If you think about it, it's not good to be inhaling vaporized oils as some of them will cool down back into oils in your lungs, causing an inflammatory reaction. I stopped a while ago and I'm still having some lung issues although I know God will heal me

Cannabis is not a sin. Vaping isn't good for you im sure, but cannabis is no more of a drug than coffee. In tinctures with a 1:1 ratio of thc and cbd it can be very medically beneficial in many ways. Thc works best with cbd and is much safer than pain medicine. I used to have to take opioids for pain but I have my life back

I struggled a lot with this question. I prayed and contemplated weather or not cannabis is a sin. After much prayer and struggle. I ultimately concluded, although I was very reluctant to, that it is indeed a sin. I used to consume cannabis all day everyday for years. The question that I think people should ask themselves, and this is the question that ultimately encouraged me to repent from it, is are you comfortable standing before the Lord high and not of sober mind? I believe that Jesus is coming back soon, and on that day I will be of sober mind. Do you want the same?

Coming from a guy who still smokes everyday. Ask yourself a few questions: Why does the Bible say be of a sober mind at my return? Jesus doesn't want you to make anything your master over Him. You say thanks to pot you have your life back. Doesn't God bring us low to give thanks to Him for bringing our life back. Be careful not to serve and glorify the drug. I struggle with this too but we are sinful. There isn't a grand explanation here outside of scripture because our feelings don't matter on the subject.

I was using the vape constantly (abusing it accidentally) one day at work I blocked out and fainted to the floor… I threw that vape out so fast and NEVER used it since then 2yrs now, that moment also triggered a thought of quitting cannabis completely which I have done so thank you Jesus 🙏🏻

This broadcast completely leaves out the fact that you don't smoke nearly as much tho... people ultimately have a certain high the like to get to, and nobody likes to be too high. yes if you vape the entire cartridge, which no body does, then you'd have an insane amount of thc in you, and would likely "green out" and puke and have a panic attack. I used to smoke weed before I decided to go back to Christianity. The worst thing people can do is lie to the youth about drugs. While I don't think you can be smoking weed and really live a Christian life, it's not some physically damaging drug. vaping certainly isn't healthy, but if you only smoke a bit, or only take it in edibles, you're probably fine. this argument of super potent marijuana is only used by people who have zero idea on what they're talking about. for example in the 60s weed wasn't as good of quality thus less potent; however, the size of the joints people smoked were absolutely massive compared to the size of the joints people smoke today. why? because nobody likes to be too high to begin with, so if it's more potent they smoke less.

Also, the Bible does advise to keep a sober mind, for both human dignity, and not being in a vulnerable mental state that's easier for demons to enter. I realize some denominations might be a bit more loose with that stuff, or if you're non denominational; however, I'm a Catholic and take it seriously now. I don't judge people for smoking, but I'm absolutely not taking part in that lifestyle anymore.

I’m 29 now…I smoked weed since I was 12…daily for sure when I’m got off meth when I was about 16…I now am sober on month 3, I used to think it was normal for my thoughts to be all over the place I used to think it was normal to have so many pointless thoughts and it’s not…thru reading my Bible every day the Holy Spirit made me quit smoking weed and weed vapes and now I’m going on month four sober…I forfeited 13 years of my life too smoking weed…I did nothing but smoke and work and I thought that was all life was.. It really depends how much you smoke, Someone with a high tolerance has a lower chance of Neurological problems but people who are young and have just started smoking possibly could trigger scizophrenia depression ect, Including it makes you lazy look I love weed right but there should be a limit of thc that you can buy I'd say 40-50 % nothin higher, Anyways its extremely rare for scizophrenia when smoking weed usually LSD and Weed or Mushrooms and weed mixed causes it.

Banning vapes makes the problem far worse because then they cant be controlled and the black market steps in to satisfy the damnd, which means no safety regulations. And thus everyone loses.The way to go is to regulate them safely and not have a situation where the black market can exploit the demand. They've attempted to partly ban nicotine in vapes here in Australia and this is exactly what's happened: a huge black market with dodgy and potentially unsafe vapes. @@agaimless3724 I won’t pretend that sugar, alcohol, and many other things aren’t harmful. They certainly are. But weed is anything but harmless. Moderation is not something users tend to comply with. Usually, those who smoke need more and more to get the same high. It’s a forced release of dopamine (which is the natural happy chemical). After this forced release, the brain stops releasing dopamine for things it used to. Thus, things that bring sober people joy no longer bring joy to addicts. Life is dull without the daily fix. I’ve seen this played out repeatedly over the last four decades, thinking long ago it was harmless myself. It’s not. I pray you find that out sooner than later and find joy in life and not substance 💗

I used to live in Colorado. There is an actual word we use for this. Scrommiting. It means screaming and vomiting. When people eat too many edibles or smoke too much weed, most of the time they just sleep it off. But sometimes they go crazy.. the biggest issue is the black market products coming from the cartel in California using pesticides that have been banned for over 20 years…. Or vape cartridges that are sold on the black market, using designer drugs, similar to the spice products that were outlawed….. the truth is you do not know what is in that liquid. Don’t believe the dispensary BS. Dispensaries are there to make money bottom line. They will come up with a litany of reasons why their products are safe, but at the end of the day all they care about is making money they don’t care about your children they’re not a bunch of happy hippies.

This is what i do not like, a one sided argument on a subject. The focus was on THC, the psychoactive element of cannabis but zero focus or discussing on the non-psychoactive element CBD. Everything has a harmful and non-harmful side to it and within each there are pros & cons. Focusing on one issue is and will always be biased. I cannot take this video seriously since it is clearly fear mongering.

Im no scientist or chem-engineer, but "95% THC (assume by volume?)" does not mean the THC itself is high quality. THC levels could be 5% , while the vape's refill liquid (lets asusme 100ml for ease of explaining it) is 95ml of the 5% THC....

I am taking prescribed cannabis oil for my autoimmune disease. It has made a large difference to my inflammation but it makes me feel stressed and anxious. I only use a third of the 1ml dose I'm advised to take, and can still feel it. Vaping it must be very disturbing.

Get some CBD too and mix it , a good combination of CBD and THC will stop the stress and anxiety I have been a long term users and have a high tolerance and even for me high THC with no CBD can cause me to get a bit edgy
