what disgust me about this is how people disrespect the families of the tragic incident which led to the deaths of their family members and make a movie out of it to gain profit and make money. The cruel intent of how these people thinking about themselves and not looking to the traumas in which this incident took a beloved members of their families.

@@Maksilver A producer and a director produced a short film about the incident without asking any consent for each of the families and the victims involved. making profit out of it and having those families relive the trauma they have.

For one, many people won't call this attack an act of terrorism. Which disgusts me. It seems like they only use the word terrorism if the attacker is Muslim. Double standards. The victim family's want justice and they want everyone to know it was an act of terrorism.

Whether she sees herself as a heroine or not, the fact remains, she is a great leader and an excellent example for all leaders , in whatever sphere of activity, across the world. If more leaders behaved like her this world be a wonderful place to live. May Allah continue to bless her and the great nation of New Zealand.

Be it a film or documentary about a tragedy. Producers should always have the victims and survivors involved. Not just for details or to relay their experiences but out of respect for them and their families. For all those who wish to participate. Sidelining those directly affected is disrespectful and wrong.

She did the right and responsible thing after a tragedy hit one part of the community. She showed leadership, came out to meet them and stood united with those who suffered. That is what any decent leader should do. She is also right in that the story to be told is that of the victims/community, not her.

I understand the sentiment but being muslim myself I actually think the film writer was attempting to send a positive msge.(unless I am unaware of any specifics) think about it, the movie would have just highlighted the Islamophobic rhetoric and also Prime Minister Arden's response of calling a spade a spade plus the fact that this tragic event actually ended up bringing people of different faiths and background together who stood as one in solidarity and humanity. Wouldn't that send a positive msge? Besides, in a world where more and more statesmen are creating a polarizing environment, shouldn't leaders like Jacinda Arden be applauded??

Yes exactly, it's the same what I too thought about. Let me guess, it might because of the people who lost their loved ones are still haunted by that tragedy and moreover the man who killed these many people didn't even receive the 'actual punishment' which he deserved or like how the girl said that the story doesn't focus on their suffering or pain but rather the compassion, LOVE and service given by the majority community, in a way to showcase the majority as the 'SAVIOURS'. Ofcourse some may feel that sidelining the victims and their families who are undergoing the pain of that tragedy is not that great as the whole incident and later stories are taking place around these very own people and their lifes are the one's that drastically changed. But I believe like the way you said, that it could reduce the distance between people and can bring more communal harmony in the society.

This is the problem with media. Everyone has liberty and freedom, if ppl want to tell the story from the victims thats completely fine, if someone want to portray the response to the event as a movie thats also ok. Now if this movie was hatefull and say legitimized the attack...then yes protest etc.... this movie does none of that, y r u telling the producer and the director what he can and cant make. If u dont like the movie, then dont watch. This kind of censuring is bad for freedom.

I just want to watch the movie, the world citizen want to watch it. No need to over reacting, as we have seen a lot of movies based on reality incidents or tragedy like pearl harbors as example. It is not about making profit of the tragedy, it just we need to document it in the form of movies, definitely for good intentions. If I was one of the family members of the victim, I would love to see a movie even though it is related to my family, I just want to see it in other perspective.
