I had 15ft by 8ft weeds in bkyd..i dumped rock salt .cheap kind..n let it settle in ..then rain did the rest ..no mixing etc ..jus dump crystals on area .nature do rest .
@@mbank3832correct but if you have pets it's best to dissolve the salt in water and spray. If pets start consuming the salt it could make them sick or be fatal
@@juhs ok i see, thanks. so far everyone that demonstrate rock salt's power vs weed mixes water with salt, very rarely i see someone spray salt on weeds like they are a snow lol
This is what I've done: 1) Dump a whole 40lb bag of pool salt into a large flower pot. 2) Fill up the pot with a hose using jet spray to help break up and mix the salt. Let sit for 15-20 minutes or even longer if desired. By this point, you'll have a potent brine. 3) Use a watering can to collect as much of the brine as you can and distribute as desired. 4) Once you run out of brine, repeat the process. Eventually, all of the salt will break up. This wasn't a one-shot and dissolve. I got several batches of brine, which is even more cost-effective. Optional: Add 1-2 gallons of white vinegar.
@Mk101T For some reason, and maybe this is just me, I once poured straight bleach on a bunch of vegetation, hoping to kill it (preparing for gravel installation). It did nothing, which surprised me. To be honest, the vinegar is probably not necessary. I will say that straight white vinegar and any kind of salt will wither and kill a weed within a day. Salt water alone will take a few days. Depends on how quickly you want it done.
@@LittleKing94 Ok thanks for reply . Will just try the vinegar and salt then. Gona be using cleaning vinegar though , which is 6% instead of the regular 5%.
I’ve experimented with a lot of different combinations. I no longer put vinegar and soap in the mixture, but it works fine to have it in there. I find salt water on a hot day is very effective. I pour as much salt into the water as I can. the salt that is not dissolved. Will go to the bottom of the bucket. I keep adding water until the salt is gone. I hope this information is helpful.👍
@@mbank3832Yes, but that is contingent on rain. It's better to get a potent brine mix and pour it over your weeds. It goes directly to the root. Add white vinegar if you can spare the additional expense.
