I was there at this show. The SB County bowl is one great venue. Small outdoors where the sound is outstanding and your right there on top of it. For me "Goodbye Pork Pie Hat" was the most incredible thing I ever heard on an electric guitar live. Its not how fast you can play. Its how slow and with sustain and feeling, breathing every note. Jeff Beck is guitar territory very few venture to learn let alone play. Once before I heard this sort of thing with Carlos Santana in 1976 at UCSB Robertson Gym and the classic "Europa"...for the first time ...live. and later a beautiful guitar solo Eric Clapton did as an intro to "Wonderful Tonight"... in 1982 when he had Albert Lee and Ry Cooder on stage with him.❤ Thank you. For the great memory.
I saw this tour at The Cage at UMASS - AMHERST, GREAT SHOW! It started late due to some electrical problems, but once that was solved it was a Jammin' Night. They start off with "Blue Wind" from the 'Wired' album. Beck and his Band just melted The Cage that night, Thanks Jeff....R.I.P. 🙏
Good grief Simon is relentless. He is still the same drummer, he was fully formed from early on. The power, spontaneous creativity and confidence on the kit too. Amazing!
I took saw this tour. Manchester, England. Astounding playing by everyone. Beck urged Simon on and he obliged. The drums sounded astounding, never seen them mic'd up like that. Years later saw Bozzio drumming for Jeff. That was at another level again. Seemed like a 2 hour assault on a drum set
