I love the videos! It’s really great to see a master of his craft. Could you possibly give a commentary of why you are doing each bit, how a horse’s hoof is structured, why they have a frog, the reasoning for the shape of each shoe etc?
@Keefer Bolt I would agree with that also, I can imagine that my request could be quite polarising as we all watch these fantastic videos for a multiple reasons; to relax, to entertain, to inspire, to relate, to learn. I enjoy them either way.
Have you ever worked with Shires or Clydesdales? In the UK they are mainly bred for showing. I used to be head groom for my uncle’s Heavy Horse team driving up to a team of 6 geldings.
I'm trying to figure out how people discovered one day that you could hammer nails into an animal's foot 😱😱😱. That would have never occurred to me lol 🤔.
Im a lazy farrier. I cold fit most of my shoes. Sometimes I hot seed like I was trained to but clients can care less here in California. They pay more on useless vitamins than a well shod sound horse. Most are lawn ornaments anyway. I would love to come train under you Brits. Ever do clinics?
Why do people actually do this? Cus I'm sure wild horses are fine as it is right. I'm asking cus I'm uneducated in all this so I'm just curious to know
Because it helps the hoof not grow as long... also it helps prevent abscesses from rocks when you ride on the road. One more reason, because it prevents horses from getting their hooves worn down (AKA Flat footed) 👍
