I have the same Leica lens on my M6. I love the size and have the same thought on the focus tab too loose for my taste. Now I'm looking more and more to a digital Leica 🙈

Hey Samuel - the f/2.5 version of that lens actually opens up to f/2.4 anyways (mechanically) but Leica markets them as f/2.5. Performance wise, they’re pretty much the same (I’ve had both).

You got some pictures! Visiting cemeteries is very enjoyable, I recommend Père Lachaise if you're in Paris. 50mm is a great focal length and smaller lenses are where it's at for me so I'll keep this lens in mind if ever shoot Leica

Shooting film is just like smoking a cigar: complicated, can be a hassle, expensive, a slow process, and that is why it is so soooooooooooo enjoyable (when you get it right).

The best summarit is the 35 and 75.. oh love the 35 /2.5 and Zeiss 35 /2.8 C Biogon. But no rangefinders now for me :)

I was thinking about that lens before I got the summarit! There is not much online about the lens but it is probably amazing! I wanted a modern look though and the summarit gives me that. I love my 35mm ultron though!

Love the German phrases in the video since this is my first language ;). The Summarit lenses are one of the most underrated Leica lenses but one of the best regarding sharpness. I have the 35/2.4 which is great, too.

great lens, many people disregard or don't think of the summarit 35/50s when looking for leica glass. Cheaper than a crong, and only half stop slower, with similar IQ

I have an old Pentax K 135mm F2.5 lens :) but we don't see anything between F2-F2.8 a lot with the big brands.

@@SamuelStreetlife yes - Im guessing leica see they can still keep it small and slightly faster than 2.8 and so just do it. hmm thinking about it, i feel the same way for f2 then f1.8? then we have f1.9 or f1.7 in the GFX just slight incremental increase in "speeds"

I don't share maya's view, that film is more expensive than digital. I got a medium format camera for 75 euros. So with the film and scanning i was around 100 bucks for my first pictures. Of course i have to buy the film again, but how much would i have to pay to have pictures of this quality and resolution on digital and how many rolls can i buy from this pricetag? And how long until the digital cam is obsolete because a better sensor came out or whatever.

The later Leica Summarit 50mm f2,4 is the better one. This also applies for the Leica Summarit 75mm F2,4 instead of the f2,5. The minimal focus distance is 0,7m (f2,4) instead of 0,9 m (f2,5). Thats a huge difference for portrait and close-up photos. Leica summarit 90 mm. The minimal focus distance is 0,9m (f2,4) instead of 1,0 m (f2,5).

It's not fast enough for leica snobs haha. Leica didn't sell a lot of these because people didn't even concider them and went to the summicron or summilux versions.
