So.... this thing may have been more like the fast, killer roadrunner depiction of raptors than the theorized reality of (at least smaller) dromeosaurs being at least semi arboreal?
Yeah , dromeosaurus where essentially the closest thing to felines dinosaurs produced , And this guy seems to have the adaptations to be an extremely fast dinosaur with possibly predatory adaptations , i would exclude pack hunting since reptiles tend to not do that , but i wouldn't exclude him using his big claws to hurt small preys , I might not even exclude this guy ganging up in feeding frenzies on larger preys ( juvanile sauropods )
Certainly an odd one. I'd be inclined to think it probably did not have twin claws for hunting with, dromeasaur claws could have been used for climbing, providing a dual purpose, and they are present in maniraptors where they would also be used for climbing. Also red legged seriamas, which have a dromeasaur like claw for hunting with only have one. This thing was in a deset and had straighter claws, so it likely wasn't climbing with them. Although I'd expect its toe to have a thicker foot pad. Certainly a weird one.
Happily given like, and humorous or insightful comment, for the Almighty Algorithm, here. 👋😊 Watching many of these in a row, and doing other things, so you get a copypasta. Carry on.
A quick thought. This animal would be chasing around small desert critters, but as you say wouldn't be very fast. Running around on a single toe could allow them to make sharper turns using an outer toe like stablising wheels on a kid's first bicycle. Speculation i know, but worth testing.
@@jonahedmiston5144 Speed on the turn is just as important as straight line speed when chasing smaller prey in an open environment. Just throwing that idea out. When it's biometrically tested there will be a better undnerstanding of it's nature and capabilities.
Maybe masiakosaurus odd teeth were used for hunting insects kinda like the bizarre teeth of most pterosaurs for vespersaurus running on one toe maybe it was to keep it clean from the sand for hunting or prevent it from overheating. Although I think it was most likely to be for speed.
A dinosaur, with a middle toe so sturdy that it can run and hop around in deserts, is so on the nose about its abilities that it is constantly giving two middle fingers with its feet.
@@chimerasuchus normal bird type metabolism i reckon. be lunch for something bigger otherwise. this is one reason i dont buy the 'some dinosaurs were sluggish' hypothosis based on not alot. the bipeds would need high metabolism to balance on two legs etc. and if you've got massive 'bird monsters' running about, sure as hell the herbivores were not going to be sluggish and slow either, or they would be sitting ducks, which just creates selection for bigger badder carnivores. when youve got some animals with warm blood, it becomes an arms race just to stay alive.
If you were so distracted and so annoyed with it, then find someone else to watch. I’ve just found this account and can already confirm that this is a great and under appreciated channel. Find somewhere else to go instead of spreading negativity.
@@cheyennepepper301 I just watched a baby cow rescue video on THE DODO, the woman kinda talking similar. Is it some kind of accent ? If it is, I am sorry, I am not from US so, you guys have different accents, it might be one of them. Let me know if it's actually an accent or not? I am gonna call it "THE LAZY ACCENT". don't mean to offend but these guys are lazy even when talking.
