Jeff goes over his thoughts of using a VESSEL PLAYERS 4 IV golf bag over the last year. Would he suggest getting one again? Pros and cons of using a Vessel bag,
Mate, they do allow full customisation... I designed my own player 4 pro bag last year from scratch (From Australia)... The gripes I have with the bag (Player 4 pro 14 way) are the frame is a little flimsy at the top it bends, out of the box it was slightly out of shape, but able to be bent back into shape. It arrived in a damaged cardboard box which I though was ridiculous considering the price! Also the clubs stick a bit especially when used as a stand bag ( I use standard golf pride grips mcc teams grips with 3 papers), which is ridiculous imo considering the high price... The rest of the bag is great, pockets materials etc etc BUT IMO besides the materials used/ pockets and interchangeability I ordered differ coloured legs and switched them over etc my old Nike Air Hybrid is a better bag... ps I'd wish I could post pics...
@@modrngolf the top is... When I got it was bent out of shape, I was really worried and about to email them to complain (I took pics) then I tried to bend it back in shape and it worked... That's what I mean by flimsy... I'm not able to bend other bags like that... 🤷 I really like the bag still looks awesome! 👌
the club jam / stick on this bag is absolutely ridiculous for how expensive the bag is. i have the pebbled navy player IV Pro and I even had to get those tacky club divider tubes to alleviate that. i've had cheaper bags that are just as functional but with wayyyy less club jam. i just liked the high class look of the leather but to be honest, i may switch back to a cheaper bag cause even with the tubes it still sucks
@philiphoang6851 argee 💯 mate stupid design on the bottom, as soon as you use the stand it compresses at the bottom and jams the clubs... Nike Air Hybrid is a much better bag just not as good material...
@@modrngolf Ps I recently took the leap and got the Ghost 14 way stand bag in White it is the 💣 looks way better than the vessel and better quality imo and the best thing almost zero club jam! The only thing it loses to vessel is the customisation and pockets... It fit all my stuff from my vessel bag except my fold up alignment stick... HIGHLY recommend Ghost, have gotten waaay more comments and a mate is ordering one after seeing it... 👻🍻
Thanks for the 1 year update. Really helps. How does it do in the rain? I imagine better than nylon but not better than waterproof nylon. I live in the PNW so I need something a little water resistant/proof. And then I'm using grips one size bigger than standard...so not jumbo. Do you think they'll fit OK? Thanks in advance
Thanks for the comment. I’d suggest going up to the pro for the larger grips- and it does great in rain!! I’ve never had an issue with leaking and unfortunately I’ve played in too many rain storms. Thanks again!
Great video 👌🏻 Would you recommend the Player Pro IV as bag exclusively used as a carry bag or would it be too heavy? Or would you recommend I use the VLX 2.0 bag? I also have one size up on standard grip with my irons.
Thank you. For the size and weight of the bag- it’s never bothered me. Some want to shave a few pounds off to make it easier to carry. I’ll be reviewing the AIR and maybe that’s the best of the group? Thanks again.
Did you ever end up using a IV Pro? You've recommended that one for the upgrades being worth the added $40, but haven't seen your personal experience with the Pro.
Yes I did. If you use larger grips or need a larger top, yes. If not I’d say the standard is the way to go. Stay tuned this week for two reviews that may help your decision.
