My PT noticed my right eye did not track as well as my left causing a LOT of balance issues. So she had me set up this simple exercise. Draw an X on a post it note and place on the wall eyeball height. Now take small pieces of masking tape with a black dot and place them 18” away from the post it note at 12, 1:30, 3:00, 4:30, 6:00, etc., to make a circle. Stand arms length away and focus on the X. Without moving your head look at each piece of tape. 3:00, 9:00. 10:30, 4:30, etc. I was amazed at how hard it was to not see two dots. The left eye would lock on immediately but the right eye dances around. With a lot of practice I can lock on quickly. Best part is I’m NOT dizzy anymore!

Thanks guys, this video has been very helpful to me to help regaining my balance after a translabyrinthine craniotomy procedure. The exercises you shared of eyes crossing the centerline followed by movement in that direction were particularly beneficial to me - and not mentioned in any of the materials provided by my doctor. Finally, as a former Milwaukee resident I appreciated the inclusion of the Packer ball in the exercises and agree it is definitely attractive!

I have been suffering ever since 1965 with Meniere's Syndrome, and was finally awarded 100% Disability by the VA. It was tolerable for many years, but got progressively worse, as I aged to my late sixties and seventies. I became dangerously unstable when walking, and in 2018, fell 30 feet into a pit, falling end - over -end, and luckily, didn't break my neck! Since then, my episodes have become much more frequent, accompanied by severe falls, as years progressed. I take great pains to keep my balance, and avoid steps, and walking which creates possibility of falls, My L1 - L5 vertebrae were fused in 2019, after my pit fall, which also limit my dexterity when walking, and having to rapidly adjust my direction, but, I'm managing. I tried your leg stretches, because I also have foot drop, from a nicked nerve during surgery. I have learned to fall like they do in movies - so I don't get seriously hurt! Love your videos!

First I have to say that I love watching your videos! Thank you so much for having all of these to help people! I have vestibular migraines and I'm going to have to try these. I'm one of the people you talked about who is going to have to start off very slowly. Just watching some of the exercises, if I had to track your movements for example, caused me to be even more off balance than I was, and my favorite, nausea. I'm on the Migraine Diet - it's helping a lot with the pain part of the migraines - not so much yet with my balance, left side of my head/ear/eye, or having to track things with my eyes. But I think these will be a good starting point. When I see my Dr. I'm going to ask for Vestibular Therapy - I've been faithful to the diet (mostly, I'm human) it was harder in the beginning but it gets a little easier as time goes on. Thank you again for such great videos!

Bob & Brad: There has been so many people in our area recently who have suffered from Vertigo. It seems strange that several people are dealing with it. I looked things up on line in an effort to help my aunt and my mother in law who are currently struggling with Vertigo. Both were put on antibiotics and really struggling. I feel like the doctors are puzzled and not sure how to treat them. I found it interesting watching info on Vestibular rehabilitation. When I read many of the comments from other suffers, I was saddened to find little help out there. I was hoping you guys might do more research on this problem and help others find methods to alleviate the suffering or complete healing. Most of the posts are old so I am hoping to draw awareness and find updates for those desperate and suffering.

In normal life i'm pretty damn good with balance stuff and have even done full yoga and pilates classes during episodes without issue but for me at the moment i think i just need as much sleep as i can get and walking. I will do some of these exercises and the ones my physio gave me when i was diagnosed but just not staring at a screen all day will help imeasurably i think.

I broke my back years ago and it healed and fused incorrectly, (a Veterans story), as a result, among other issues, I have balance issues, line of sight issues and other neurological issues because my spinal cord is wonky as a result of the misalignment due to the break and fusion. I get vestibular migraines...I am watching this today because on Monday and Tuesday it started with sparkles, Wednesday the ringing in the ears and traveling headache pain around my head...and this morning. I didn’t know about vestibular physiotherapy as I’ve been seeing a chiropractor the past 4 years and since COVID I have not had regular adjustments which has messed me up again...so “heal thy self”; your exercises will help me that I can do at home until I can get back to regular adjustments but I’ll also keep doing the exercises you had taught me. And also pray to Jesus...he Won’t let you down. Remember for each effect there is a cause...work out the cause...sometimes it’s different in each person. So get a full medical check through. The internet is a bad place to come for advice at times because not everyone is an expert but also people only report bad news and it can make things seem depressing. The success stories are rarely on here. Also people who report bad times and no cure may find one but forget to come back and give and update. I’m 4 months into my recovery from vestibular neuritis. I’ve been doing therapy off and on. Every time I start doing exercises like this I feel like I take a step back. I then stop for a few days and start over. Should I just be pushing through and keep at it to get over that hump? It’s so frustrating living with this condition.

You gotta push through it to get better. I had to do them also. Start out with simple exercises and when they get very easy then make it a little more complex. Hope it all worked out

Josh Lara sorry for the late reply. yes! Tons! I kept up with these exercises. And time. I still get dizzy when I get a headache or lack of sleep. But VN is a slow recovery.

Can I Do These Exercise At Home Without My Doctor Permission..??

I had an acl reconstruction and another arthroscopy after it and my balance is absolutely SCREWED after them and I constantly feel like I'm stuck on a boat :( (google PPPD). This along with chronic fatigue syndrome. Talk about a nightmare. I just tried these exercises and they were/are HARD! So that tells me something ;) I'm going to try to do these everyday - see if there's any improvement. Thank you gentlemen, I shall report back. Louise, Perth Western Australia 😊

@physicaltherapyvideo I am a 18 year old suffering from Mal de debarquement syndrome since the past 3 months, there has been no improvement, it occurred due to spending a lot of time on computer. Everything seems to float and I have swaying / bobbing feeling along with it too. Can you suggest me exercises that can reduce or cure the symptoms of mal de debarquement syndrome?

I have severe vertigo but there is nothing wrong with my ears I did so many tests even MRI, I struggle the most if I'm standing still I would literally fall over and my ankles don't help much cause I have overpronation and flat foot. My biggest problem is that doctors don't believe me so could this work even if the problem is not ear-related?

I feel the same thing and I have been looking into it because same as you no one believes me, I found something called PPPD (persistent postural perceptual dizziness) and I think it's the cause. Google it it may help Best of luck ❤️

I have labyrinthitis- medicine wise what helped me was Serc (Betahistamine Dichloride) . I was getting an attack a day - very unpleasant. They stopped it in its tracks. You can take them longer than Stemtil according to my ENT. Also doing these types of exercises every day really helps. Also getting good sleep and eating a healthy diet seems to have helped as well. I also find drinking lots of water seems to help as well.

Currently I having PT and after 1 month they will decide what next to do. Praying God will lead me best God’s instrument to cure me. Been having this for more than a year. 🙏
