Thx for the share and the support brother 🙏. I am indeed a veteran and served in Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq. Love & Respect for all that have served, sacrificed and are still serving 🙏❤️.
Thanks for your sincere reaction. I put this song up for request, not only for myself but mainly for those who suffer from PTSD. Hearing this song always takes me back........and I see the faces of my buddies passing by....... Thank you so much for your great response.
Roel thank you for your sevice to our 🇳🇱 country. I hope the images of war will fade and you will be able to remeber the happy faces of the peoples you helped. Be well! 🌷🌷🌷🌷
I am not a veteran myself but I always feel humble when I think of all the men and women who have fought for our freedom. Veteransday is a yearly tribute to these brave men and women!! We also honour all of them and all non-military people who have fought and/or died during the Civil War 40-45 and all other war zones around the world since then on May 4th and 5th. Much much respect!!! This being said...what a beautifull song and performance!!!
Wij zijn huzaar == "We are hussars Wij zijn Huzaren van Boreel == We are Hussars of Boreel Trouw aan elkaar == Loyal to each other En voor ons is niets teveel == And nothing is too much for us Onze Vorstin == Our Queen Zullen wij altijd vereren == We will always revere Wij zijn Huzaren, wij zijn Huzaren == We are Hussars, we are Hussars Wij zijn Huzaren van Boreel". == We are Hussars of Boreel".
This is great, didn't know the veterans had a band. And the king himself is present as well what a great honour for all who fought and have risk their lives.
So great had to Share. Thank you all who Sacrificed and to those that are Serving Our Country. God Bless You all and Sir Thank You for that Rendition. Brought tears to my Eyes.
Thank you so much for this beautiful reaction. So much respect for the armed forces, and like you said, all man & woman in service. My stepfather is a veteran. He served in Lebanon during the ‘80s for UNIFIL. This special Veterans Day concert was held in a very special place to the Netherlands. This building is called ‘De Ridderzaal’ or ‘The Hall of Knights’ in English. Built in 1280 by the Count of Holland. He ruled the state of Holland during the Middle Ages. This place was also the location where the early modern Netherlands was born. It housed the States General(Parliament) during the Dutch Republic. And till this day, it still accommodates the joint Houses of Parliament, during important & ceremonial sessions. By the way, this building is located in what’s called ‘Het/The Binnenhof’, the location of the Houses of Parliament & the government of the Netherlands. Which is in the city of Den Haag/The Hague.
Its a shame that covid whas around in 2020 and 2021 that's why there are is so little group of veterans there. 😢 but respect they deserve from everbody . thats my opinion. 😍💪 greets Jacco
I don't envy the Americans or Brits on anything except their way of honoring their veterans. Then again; the British and Dutch treat their veterans better. But still; I feel our veterans don't get the amount of respect they should. Great vid and performance btw, saw the most of this ceremony on telly, but missed this.
So true! When my husband was in the US (for the Dutch army) and had his Dutch army clothes on, he got a lot of thank you for your service . When he is in the Netherlands 🇳🇱 then nothing….
This brings up mixed emotions. Yes, veterans do deserve our respect. And yet their presence is an unwanted necessity. If we strive for peace, we should understand what it is and how doable it is to keep it. I like to believe that it's possible, but many times it feels as if peace is a fantasy or at best a local phenomena. So yeah, the lyrics of his song will be true for generations to come. And so I will respect the man and woman that are willing to challenge their mental and physical health to keep the good ones (the peace seekers) save.
Sorry, but I have to react once more. It is hard to see how governments"handle" their veterans. A friend of mine committed suiside after serving in Lebanon. He came back with severe mental problems and didn 't get the help he deserved. It is still happening and that must be stopped. Give them what they deserve. It is the least you can f.... do as a government. Thank you for your wonderfull song.
Absolutely right Menno, but it’s a long long time since they’ve disregarded this. My dad the same when he, after 4 yrs POW in Indonesia, came out of the camps. We, the people have to change it, who choose the government.
My views on serving ones country differ a bit, due to the different political situations in the world. However, that is just different pov. What does bother me quite a lot though, is the after care, for lack of a better term. How many soldiers, of any rank, come home and suffer from PTSD or other things, and do not get help offered by their respective govts ??? In my opinion, if you sent good people, men and women to enter any sort of conflict area, you need to take care of them when they get back home. Not doing so is in my opinion a criminal offense to those who served.
