Funny I also just bought one on a whim the other day, $95 direct from vevor site with a $5 coupon. Based on another video i watched the true test will be when you're out in the real cold, thinking 0-20*. Once you start clicking up off the 1st setting fuel and electricity consumption are going to go up . Would have been nice to see the amps going through that and maybe a comparison on fuel consumption when on higher setting. Pretty sweet video tho appreciate the effort to go through your experience. I think what i've seen others mention about the jackery is that when it gets REALLY cold the unit will attempt to draw more power to get the glow plug going. It's in these circumstances that the jackery may trip and need to be reset to repeat the process enough for the glow plug to get warmed up and eventually start and then the jackery can take over without getting tripped. No idea about models of jackery or if the vevor has changed at all but just to address what the real concern is. I think in normal circumstances as you've demonstrated there is no problem. Please update us what happens in the cold! I will see how my goal zero handles it and do the same

Any 12v Power System will power those. I'm not sure why anyone would say a Jackery couldn't. Even the smallest Jackery could run it for a night (~ 5 - 8 hours) on high (assuming I did my math correctly). They aren't reliable but it hasn't stopped people from purchasing them. Buying a named brand 12v heater is "better" but they don't come in an "All in one" unit that I am aware of. But they will start and remain on as long as you take care of them.

I waited to respond to this cause I knew someone would comment Jackery units wont run it and sure enough someone did. He must not have watched video long enough to see me run it just fine.

Any 12V portable power source will operate these as long as it can provide 9-13 amps for a few minutes at start up & shutdown while the glow plug is firing. Some portable power packs seem to trip an overload on the 12V port at 10 amps, that seems to be the source of the confusion?

I keep my unit inside. I just run the exhaust out of the tent. Just keep a CO detector in the tent. Also a Jackery has only 15A and the Heater won't start on the 12V adapter. It works fine with a 12V power supply plugged into AC. My Jackery Explorer 1000 won't start it.

Weird cause I ran it just fine off my Jackery 500 in the video.

@@nextweeksadventure Yes I know. I tried it again with another brand heater and different control panel and it worked on that. The Vevor heater I got has already broken down and I can't get it going again anyway. My unit came in DOA, but I got it going last year. The company wouldn't do anything for me. The connector to the control panel was broken, but I mad my own pluggable splice in the line.
