you should maybe add a metal bracket to get that exhaust farther away from the wood exterior.
@JamesDguy

It’s not the finished product I have plans to do something different with exhaust this was for demonstration. I almost always change it up but just to get it up and going this worked and didn’t heat the wood up probably because the exhaust don’t even get very hot but either way gonna be changed.

You have the thermostat above the heat vent. The thermostat will shut the heat off before the far side of the garage is warmed up.

Yup i noticed that after doing it all but it would have to reach 94degrees first which it won't get too. its fine for now lol.

Well done, nice work. To improve the system turn the pump at an angle of 30° (inlet lower than out let), direct the exhaust tube toward the ground, remove both the muffler at exaust and the air filter at intake tube😉

Question, do you think it would help if you put a fan in front of the heat outlet? To help circulate the heat better?

That thing blows really hard so I don’t think it needs one. It would have warmed up faster if I hadn’t kept going in and out of the big garage door letting the heat out lol

Sometimes you use 2x paint and primer by Rustoleum other times you use the Rusteloum Protective Enamel. Why? I’m trying to paint my sons bike without adding more cost by using a finishing protective coat.

You need to turn the muffler the other way, there is a hole on the bottom to allow the exhaust liquids to drain
@spyderkranium797
@spyderkranium797 6 месяцев назад
You put the exhaust on the fresh air intake side and it has the great possibility to suck in the exhaust and send it into the building, for one thing, second,, the pump needs to be at 30-45 degree angle to vacate air in the system and pump to run properly,,, and your intake filter is also above the exhaust so can take in exhaust fumes into burn chamber.. and we all know the heated exhaust will rise, so it will be taken into fresh air intake for the heat and into burn chamber air supply...bottom line, for safety.. turn your exhaust to opposite side/way you have it.. plus as another said,,, your muffler is upside down, the drain hole for moisture should be pointed down,, Safety, Safety, Safety

It's supposed to be ran off a 12volt battery. That way if you'd loose power it wouldnt melt the heater down not going thru its cool down process.

Mounted it right beneath the air intake. Going to be sucking in diesel fumes, no?
@JamesDguy
@JamesDguy 7 месяцев назад
It has a filter and i didn’t smell any diesel fumes after initial start up. It burns pretty clean
@PhonePhone-sf8te
@PhonePhone-sf8te 7 месяцев назад
No no no no no. There's 2 intakes, one for the heated air and one for the combustion chamber. You put the combustion exhaust right below both intakes. The heated air intake doesn't have a filter on it and even if it did it wouldn't stop carbon monoxide from getting pumped into the room. The heated air intake needs to be sucking air from inside the room to increase the efficiency by many times over. If you do decide to use this, point the exhaust in the direction it wants to go in the opposite direction away from the intake. I have one of these from vevor as well, $75 is a good price straight from their store.
@PhonePhone-sf8te
@PhonePhone-sf8te 7 месяцев назад
better yet, these things are better off being inside the building, with the intake and exhaust holes cut routing outside. The fuel tank can go either way.
@JamesDguy
@JamesDguy 7 месяцев назад
@@PhonePhone-sf8teyes there are many ways to do it I like how it is. It could be more efficient but it works better this way for me. You probably don’t paint with yours on in your shop though and I will be. It’s perfectly fine how it is. Minus the exhaust getting re located thanks for your input

Figures. A youtuber, did zero research on installing this unit, which is posted all over RU-vid.
@PainterD54
@PainterD54 6 месяцев назад
You need to do some research on those heaters before installing one. You did it all wrong. 1)Your fuel line should be replaced. That aquarium air line they send with is junk, can swell, leak and start a fire. Replace it! 2) Your fuel pump should be mounted at a 45 degree angle so the output end it up to pump out the air bubbles.(they're designed that way) 3) You should run a cold air return out of the building to the back of the unit so you re-heat the inside air and not try to heat cold outside air. It will work more efficiently as it's intended to. The whole unit should be installed inside the shop and just the exhaust and fresh air tube be going outside. That's the correct way in this case. 4) Your fuel filter is on backwards. 5) Take that low spot out of the exhaust. Moisture will settle there and shut the unit down (yes they get condensation in there) 6) Your exhaust gets over 500 degrees so you may want to get some other kind of brackets to hold it to the shed! You're going to start it on fire with it against the siding like that!! So...This video should have been titled, "How NOT to install a diesel heater"!
@PainterD54
@PainterD54 5 месяцев назад
You are heating cold outside air to blow into a building? Interesting. If you noticed, furnaces are usually on the inside of a building and just re-heat the air, with a cold air return, which takes much less fuel. That heater is designed to be installed INSIDE the building. Then you just plumb the exhaust and combustion air intake to the outside. Yours is all backwards. And also you should not use that cheap green fuel line. It's not very good and could start a fire.
