I have the 5 gallon with thumper. Get a copper or corrugated stainless steel extension pipe and get the condenser off the still - leaving it on the still is counter-productive as the condenser will take heat from the still. That makes it harder to maintain high temperature in your still and low temperature in your condenser.
Having just constructed mine, a few mods. I like the video. Important points mentioned. Engineering is not perfect, manual sucks but there you go for 60 quid a bargain.
I don't know either... Can you take it to a hardware store and look in different areas? Or maybe the manufacturer could tell you? Thread matching has never been easy for me
How does it work for distilling just water? My stove is far from my sink. Do you need to run water through the coils to get water through it or will the copper melt or what?
You could try it outside on a propane stove, and then use a garden hose as your water supply. Or you could go buy some PVC pipe and/or plastic tubing to run the water from the sink and back to the sink. It'll still water really well... You just need to keep those copper coils cold.
Do you think you could make a rockwool jacket for it? Like a toaster cubby. Something to insulate the main pot so it all goes up an out faster. Im thinking sew a nomex bag and then stuff with rockwool.
That's not how we do it on this channel. I like to go through things and explain as I go for those who don't have a manual, or maybe have parts they want to put together... Or put together differently to make it better. And many have already written in the comments about how they've improved the design. That's the spirit of this channel. I hope you can understand and are able to find peace with it.
Maybe you should read the title of the video before making a lame comment about it. “Unboxing” generally means you are seeing something for the first time. Just a thought.
Could barely recognize you. Is that a three- or four-week growth on the chin? You should be watching all of those silver surfaces before use. they them have manufacturing oils.
