Great demonstration. I actually bought the exact machine ten minutes before I found your video. Your demo makes me believe I'll be more than happy with my purchase when it arrives. Bought on Vevor website and new customers who register get a discount. Paid $89 free shipping. What I liked was the larger 9" opening and that underneath the plastic housing are metal gears and handle. I am looking to emboss a heavier gauge copper metal without cutting through. Did you by any chance try any metal in the 36-38 gauge range? Approx. 0.3mm thick. Thanks again!
Thank you for the kind comment, I hope you like the machine as much as I do. I have only used this machine for paper crafting, I hope it works out well for your metal works. I recommend playing with different shim thicknesses if you have any issues. Please let me know how it works for you and your thoughts on it.
Thanks for the video, I just got one of these for Christmas. I only have two die's for it at the moment but I have always wanted one. I have a small Sissix enbosser, but this does both. I was glad to hear it popped and cracked with you like it did me. Now all I need to do is buy some die's for it.
I'm not sure I have ever seen the wooden dies but I do have some 4 - inch thick Sizzix dies, made from steel and plastic. I ran a few of those through the machine and they work fine, I run them through with just 1 plate instead of 2. I hope that somewhat answers your question.
Quite interesting, D. Do you have a follow up review/opinion after using this for 7 months? As far as replacement cutting plates, you can buy acrylic sheets at places at Blick Art Supplies in the correct thickness and they can be cut to the specific size with a saw (sand off any rough edges). What is the warranty like?
Yes, I do plan on making a follow up review, at 12 months. I am happy with the quality and durability of this machine, so far, not a complaint. The machine comes with a 1-year warranty. Thank you for commenting and subscribing. ❤
The cardstock I used to emboss at 13:43 was 80lb, it did have a very small area that pierced through but barely noticeable. My suggestion is to play with the shim thickness till you get the best emboss or cuts.
Thank you for this tutorial! I looked at several videos before I found yours, which is the best! The instructions ARE very sparse. I couldn’t for the life of me get it to work. I got the same 9” machine. I also cannot find just plain embossing folders. Could you please possibly add a link or so for supplies, etc. ? TIA! Tam
My suggestion is to try different shim thicknesses, add an extra sheet of copy paper or cardstock, even thin pieces of cardboard till you find the right pressure for the perfect cuts or embossing. It does take some practice with nearly all the machines I have tried. Good luck, it's well worth it once you learn.

So sorry for the delay in letting you know if this machine will cut felt. Well, I finally made a trip to the fabric store and purchased medium and thin weight felt. Good news, both weights cut well in the machine, I used simple shaped dies (circles, squares, stars, hearts etc., all cut nicely.👍
Hello I am just seeing this video. I had no idea that vevor released a manual embossing machine. This is great to know. I wanted to know if you could run some vynl through it. I am curious to see if it will cut it all the way.
Did you try with sizzix cutting dies? Or Just with regular ones? Besides that, have you tried with different embossing folders for example the ones sold in Shein? Thanks in advance 😊
@tonyarielespinoza6512, In answer to your questions, I did try Sizzix cutting dies in the machine, and they cut out perfectly. I have not purchased any embossing folders from Shein, but I have tried different brands and thicknesses of embossing folders, and all embossed well.
Available from Amazon.com: Spellbinders CUTTING PLATES EXTENDED (C) 2- pk or Sizzix, One Size Cutting Pad for Big Shot Plus 660581, 2 - pk. Either set will work, your machine might need extra shims (card stock or thin cardboard), it's all about experimenting with different thicknesses of shims to see what works best for you.
Have you tried sizzix embossing folders? My new vevor works great on dies and the embossing folder that came with it. But when I tried the sizzix embossing folder I couldn't get it thru. I used the cutting plates recommended for embossing. It's the only other embossing folder I have. Will buy more when I know what brands to get.
Hi ,I have tried using "regular" embossing folders that I buy from Ali-ekspress. I used the 2 thinnest plates and that gave a very good result...if you like I could send a foto but need your messenger or email!
