i mean technically if the year is anything to go by England beat them to the Tank. and several self loading rifles where prototypes around the same time in various countries. and if they living standard and virtual slave status of 90% of the country was anything to go on which IT WAS then they were backward.

Awesome history! Yes indeed the Imperial Russians did invent,came up with some unique weapons systems that were state of the art of their time. From the Vezdekhod to the Federov rifle. Jmantime, never fails to surprise the subscribers with unique subject matter! Good job, well done sir!
I think it would be really interesting if you did a video on steam vessels in US coast guard service during the Second World War. It is not as easy to do research on as some of these other subjects and seems like something you are good at.
such a shame they didn't mass product them,with installed cannon,that tank would make a boom on the eastern front(especialy they begin a project in 1914)
Instead, the money was thrown at building a stupid Tsar Tank, which in the end couldn't even move itself properly. The Germans, however, were not very successful in this either, but at least their vehicles could be used in battle.
