VFR 800 | First Ride On A V-TEC
I've been dying to get my hands on my brothers VFR800. I've never ridden a V4 before and I was curious to see what kind of difference the V-TEC makes.
It's a surprisingly smooth set up and surprisingly sporty as well. The V-TEC was nowhere near as frustrating or finicky as I'd been warned about. When it kicks in around 7000 revs it just sounds a bit nicer and becomes fractionally more responsive on the throttle. And if at any point that sensitivity becomes frustrating you just need to select a different gear and it smooths the whole process out.
Either way I liked it a lot though I can't see myself wanting to uphold the touring implications of its 'sport tourer' title. Not my choice for comfort on a long trip.
