Na sorry havnt done anything to it for a wile, i was trying to get some mls gaskets for it but couldn't find anything at the time. The ls xg ute project im doing is eating up all my time and money lately.
Nice video. I just picked up a Nissan Caravan Royal ‘96 (JDM) which houses the same motor. I’m looking for motor oil and filter recommendations for the VG30e, if anyone can offer any recommendations?
I got a 85 z31 with 190000 I just using a high mileage one from Oreileys works just fine. Oil i like to run synthetic high mileage and viscosity is based on weather: 10W-30, 10W-40 (Above -18) - 20W-40, 20W-50 (Above 10) 5W-30 (Below 16)
Funny just got my vg30e block back after an 1mm overbore. Parts from rockauto.com Found during the process that my driver side head was cracked causing my water/oil mixing issues 👍🏻

I got 213,680 miles on my 95 2wd pathfinder. Vg30E, ready for boost.. Junkyard parts. Only want 6 pounds. Perfect for what I'm doing. Stumbled on the channel and I enjoyed it. Keep up the grind and the updates! Yknotauto on IG I'm doc🤘
@@RedsProjects I was going to ask the same thing.. were you just using the nitrous fogger? Have you found any tuning solution? Nistune is based is AUS but I don’t think any of their boards are comparable with the ecu in the Navarro/d21
When installing the mains, the one on the right seems slightly thicker than the centre 2? I’m just reassembling mine after changing the bearings and wanted to make sure if you can confirm dude ? I know the other end has the end play bearing. Cheers 👍🏻
Reds Projects cheers dude I’ve figured it out! Yes the crank pulley end is slightly wider than the middle ones! I’ve changed them all with the rods and pistons in situ which was quite tricky to get the end caps off. It spins by hand lovely and smooth 👍🏻 Engine back i. Next week 🤞
@@RedsProjects mines in all running sweet dude! I removed the back plate for the new oil pump and it was bone dry inside so I filled it with grease to aid oil pressure 👍🏻
Nice, I'm just about to reassemble my vg33e to replace a blown vg30e. Doing basically the same stuff you are (hone, new rings, pistons, bearings, etc.)
@@RedsProjects nice! I try to work on mine a little every day, but almost never have more than 30 minutes or so to spend on it. I've got little kids that make sure I don't work on it very long 🤣 I have an endurance racecar, 1988 200sx s12. The engine was old, over 240,000 miles. It lasted 6.5 hours into the race and spun a rod bearing. Turns out there was only 2 quarts of oil left in it, so the oil consumption was much worse than I realized. So now I'm rebuilding a vg33e out of a truck. Also making a bigger oil pan and wiring up an oil pressure warning light to shine brightly in the drivers face. So hopefully we don't have that problem again 😂
