@@kirksmith9783 Yeah, that's just false. Plenty of historic battles have been won by the side with the much smaller side. The Battle of Agincourt comes to mind, where 5k Brits defeated 30k French, due to the brilliance of the warrior king Henry V. Or the Battle of Rourkes drift, where 150 Brits defeated 5k Zulus, because they held the better ground. Or going back further, The Battle of Pharsalus, where 20k Romans defeated 40k Pompeins, because of the genius of general Julius Caesar. Or the Battle of Gaugamela, where Alexander the Great defeated nearly a million Persian troops with only 47k men. Which is one of the historical events that the movie 300 is based on. All things being equal, numbers matter. But legendary warriors/commanders can often tip the balance. As can the ground the battle is fought on
@@chrisjames6327 I agree with your point completely but I just want to point out that there definitely were not anywhere close to a million Persian troops at Gaugamela. Ancient authors invariably inflated the numbers of the enemy faction while minimising their own. In reality there were maybe around 100,000 Persians. Still it was an amazing victory and Alexander is undoubtedly one of the most brilliant geniuses in military history but try to remember that the numbers given by ancient authors are extremely, comically exaggerated. The only battle in history that has come close to involving a million fighting men would be Stalingrad. There's simply no way the Achaemenids could field just as many troops as the 1940s industrialised Soviet Union.
I love that Vhagar is so big she's just part of the scenery. And also that the old girl has probably completely lost track of who is who and has no idea what's going on anymore.
That is the tragic for the dragons. They are one big family just like the Targaryens, but unlike them the dragons have no clue why they are suddenly killing each other.
Probably mostly the same, Vhagar during the Dance was nearly as big as Balerion in his final years (correction, see below). Two very old gramps dragons. And when Balerion died of old age, he had stopped growing since some time and was at least 20 years older than Vaghar now. Edit : Dance's Vhagar is as big as Conquest's Balerion so Balerion's during its final years would have probably be louder.
@@Defort-jd8xe well youtube is full of tg fans , if u wanna see some , search tamblack vs teamgreen , the comments are full of teamgreen fans insulting tb
@@gasp1gasp1 That was dumb though, Rhaenys should just have taken the big win at that point and retreated to Dragonstone, the Blacks would then have a huge advantage in Dragons
@@phantomguy1237he ripped his head off what are you talking about 😂😂 Vermithor was ambushed out of nowhere by Tessarion as he wanted to take flight with Seasmoke's head and got mortally wounded by her , and still he killed Tessarion as well
@@nicksmithnutmilk Nope Vermithor killed Seasmoke by ripping its head. Tessaron survived but severely wounded couldn't fly three times when it tried to fly. Then Tessaron is killed by an archer in the eye to end its misery by command of some Blackwood lord. Vermithor dies later because of its wounds from the fight. And the three dragons might have fight each other not Vermithor and Tessaron together vs Seasmoke. Huge Hammer was killed before he gets to Vermithor so Vermithor fight them without his rider. Ulf didn't fight that time neither his dragon Silverwing. But Ulf died by poisoned wine shortly after. And yea Dearon also died when Seasmoke attacked them suddenly I guess.
@@nicksmithnutmilkyou call Aegon and his army getting wiped out along with pretty much his entire family along with him having to flee mopping the floor with her? lol
HoD lacks heavily in dialogue compared to GoT.. but it makes it up with the dragon action. Season 2 has more of it than 8 season in GoT. Try watching GoT after watching HoD. You'll be amazed how good dialogue is in early GoT, every single scene is worth watching. HoD has so much stuff you can skip.
@@nicksmithnutmilkuhh no. Vhagar CANNOT handle 3 dragons on her own. they would’ve killed her within seconds, especially knowing what happens in the books later
@@kvngslatt_ Syrax and Silverwing couldn't even scratch her , Vhagar's scales at this point is too thick & hard and their fire wouldn't do anything against her plus they couldn't attack her at once , Vermithor and Silverwing are too big ( they likely wouldn't even dare to engage anyways , especially Syrax ) , like I said the only danger on Dragonstone is Vermithor Also the new dragon riders would definetely flee if they saw the granny charching and roaring like crazy or they would side with the Greens even sooner....
@@nicksmithnutmilk caraxes literally kills Vhagar and was even able to drag himself out of the water after Vhagar already died, Silverwing is the same size, if not bigger than Caraxes. so this doesn’t even make sense to say “Silverwing wouldn’t do anything”
@@kvngslatt_ you're acting like Rhaenyra , Hugh and Ulf are Daemon , Aegon and Aemond ☠️☠️🤣🤣 they would rather fly away or the new ones would rather side with Aemond , the riders arguably matter more then the dragons since dragons wouldn't just kill each other for no reason , they only fight if their rider commands so Do you really think Vermithor and Silverwing would be like with 2 cowards on their backs " oh Rhaenyra wants to kill Aemond , let's join and possibly die even though our rider clearly doesn't want to but anyways " And you really think Silverwing is on the same level or even better then Caraxes becuse she's bigger ? Nah , bro just nah 😂😂
Vermithor be like.... l just woke up, I haven't done anything in eons. Wtf? is going on? I just ate several people, got claimed....where's my double espresso? :D ,,
Vhagar: Oh, this field is too open--I cannot launch my sneak-and-kill move! Turn me around, or I shall die... look ahead of us. Three already waiting to devour me!
casually flies several hundred miles to Kings Landing, then flies back to Dragonstone so Aemond can glare at them. Imagine if they had used it to bait him out and then kill him, Ah well.
Well, he looks a bit like an ancient or elder dragon, while Silverwing looks like a fusion between blood dragon and frost dragon. There were some nerds at the CGI work.
Silverwing sounds so terrifying for me. We have poultry farm back home everytime i heard the chicken making this sounds it means predator are coming likr hawk or eagles sometimes wild cat.
I think she should have kept the dragons a secret. Aemond would’ve been blindsided and they could’ve had a better chance to take Vhagar out whenever they went after them. Showing them she had more dragons gave them a chance to plan.
I was unsure when they recasted Rhaenyra.. but she is perfect cast for a Targaryen women and she nails the role 100%. Tbf majority of them are amazing. Daemon, aemond, viserys all are perfect cast aswell. And Aegon and Haelena are also very good.
Personally for me….this scene really missed the mark because we couldn’t see the dragons when Vhagar and Aemod was flying….he turned around and then they cut to Rhaenyra standing there with the dragons. This could have been way better!!!!
That scene would have been hands down the season finale! Had a lot more power and made and excellent close to the season. The finale would have made a very solid beginning for season 3, but really lacked a good closing scene that leaves you wanting for more. It felt more like nothing happened.
