In 1989 i was 14 yrs old. I was barely able to comprehend all that was happening. Every coffee and end table had a glass top. Shelves had a small flourescent light glowing from behind. Hair was "Business up front and party in the back."
I've been looking for something like this for quite a bit! I couldn't find shit. Then I randomly clicked on this video cuz I liked the colours of the thumbnail. Now I'm here, this is amazing!
Ah yes, one of the Albums that got me through my toughest year of High School Thanks for that, Mr. Glitch! I'm glad you're still around and making music
So much atmosphere. Found this while doing some prep-work for my Shadowrun game, and it fits beautifully. Haven't listened to too much VHS Glitch before, but I certainly will now!
Prep/Play Music for ShadowRun, exactly. Want to play but i got stuck on some rule-contradiction, even if my party is accustomed to dodgy RuleBooks (Old "Warzone". until 3rd ED.) And not that much time atm, i hope i can begin with our group this year. This Album is TOP, Chummers!
I usually only listen to one or two tracks at most from any given album but this is godlike. Found it this morning and currently on my 4th run. Just give it 10 min of your life and you wont be disappointed.
MisterPringle... everyone who wasn't born before 00's or doesn't know a pixel about retro era will think that your comment is all about a nowadays's anime (*cough* Naruto? *cough*)
+VHS Glitch your more than welcome man! keep making this ridiculously amazing masterful music,I'll be waiting for your next release. and feel better as well hope all works out that way for you.
+VHS Glitch hey Glitch, how is it all going ? still playing this album all the time. inarguably one of the best synthwave albums I've ever heard keep making masterful music :)
I was fighting with my android phone, trying to unbrick the device after a not very fortunate new ROM test. I know this music has helped, if not putting the phone back alive, definitely making much better the frustrating time fighting with/against ADB. That being said, thanks, VHS Glitch, for making this!
I bought this album on Bandcamp a while ago and it's still in my regular rotation. There's enough variation in the album to keep things fresh, but it sounds like it has a unifying theme. Gets better with every listen... It's basically crack. Excellent job, VHS Glitch!
VHS Glitch are chiptune meets synthwave, with keytar solos. Evil Technology is your cyberpunk soundtrack. Stream it while running the 3E shadows. And man, that End of Transmission, I tell you.
wish i'd been born a few years earlier to realllly get to empathise with this music. Still rings a nostalgic bell for me, regardless. The perks of older siblings :)
Glad I stumbled upon the album preview on Soundcloud! Absolutely love the melody that plays during Blood in Blood Out's outro at 6:44. I could listen to it on repeat pretty much forever. Thanks for the upload!
VHS Glitch I would have bought it after the first minute, but I was blown too far away from my PC to reach the keyboard, which was also blown into a dystopic future.
This is a super solid album. Absolutely fantastic composition, great tones, epic melodies, very driven. Completely captures the epic cyberpunk feel from dark to light. 10/10
I'm loving this album! For now, I'm downloading it on my iPod... But tomorrow, I'll buy the album (it's a bit late, today (well, tonight), to wip out my credit card and all...).
This album makes me feel I am in a city fueled by corruption and driven mad by an ever growing greed, insatiable lust for power and tainted by dark desires. The lines between man and machine have blurred; people with robotic limbs and augments are commonplace. People sacrificing their humanity to gain access to abilities that human kind never thought possible, bodies that never age, limbs that can crush whatever is unfortunate enough to be within their grasp, minds that process information so fast that learning becomes an addiction for some. It is in this dark city, that reality is no longer a consistent entity, fantasy, delusion and nightmares become real and run rampant and are fueled by deceit that is the wool people put over their eyes willingly or by force. Criminals enhanced by artificial limbs rein terror in the physical world while hackers with brain implants run wild in the digital realm, police are left unable to defend or protect themselves, let alone the citizens they swore to serve. In this world there is only one absolute truth that has spread through the world, machines were the syringe that allowed the infection of the world; but the it was the darkness within ourselves that was the disease that ravaged society, culminating to the world of Evil Technology.
This banger playlist just randomly popping in my recommended in 2024 is wild! Thanks youtube alghoritms for proving that your automatisation is working at its finest :)
I have been sending this album to all my friends lately. I love how he mixes it up with the videogame style in "Insert Coin", would love to see more artists try out new ideas like that on their albums
I'm gonna go ahead and say that this is the best album. I like the 80's "technology" whatever. I don't know what I'm trying to describe. I like the cool beats the songs in this one have. 0:38 is a bad ass beat. Gives me goosebumps. I also like the parts in a couple of songs where the music will pause and then all of the sudden go beast mode. Example: 6:43 I think there's moments like that in the Chrome Death Soundtrack too. I don't exactly have to tune to every song down... Yet!
@@VHSGlitch Hey VHS, are you gonna make any new Dr disrespect songs? Go to his video from today August 21st. You could get some good music material from it
It's the future people, it's 1987 already. Takes me back to the era when everything had to be TURBO, 2000 or Hyper, even simple devices like vacuum cleaners. Thank you VHS Glitch.
Trying to go bed before 6am, at 5.20am start playing this album for background music, gets to 5.50am and ended up going bed at about half 6am so I could hear the rest of it- No regrets.
i have been listening to synthwave for hours now and i have to say it makes me want to watch fucking robocop lol the 80s version of course. not that watered down crap they made pretending to be robocop. im sick of hollywood destroying what i grew up with in the 80s but thanks to artist such as vhs glitch lazerhawk kavinsky and others all i have to do is pull up a great track close my eyes and go back into my minds eye and relive every glorious thing i remember from the 80s
I'm a private commodity speculator, living in an abandoned warehouse.. Anonymity and Secrecy are my shield from the outside world.. THIS.. IS THE MUSIC I HAVE PLAYING IN THE BACKGROUND WHETHER IN THE WAREHOUSE OR MY SPECIALLY MODDED HYBRID SUV.. Truly AWE inspiring music ..EPIC !!
My God! I'm a long-time artist, been painting for years, and this album makes me feel like I could paint forever! Fucking love this!! Legit in my book. XD Please keep it coming!!
ArmchairIntelligence First of all thank you so much for your positive feedback and kind of words man. I'm quite impressed about the huge amount of artists that send me messages to let me know that they get a lot of inspiration from my album while drawing or painting. I guess this is probably because I write music based on pictures and scenes that I have on mind so that probably comes out during the listening. Once again, thanks a lot for take some minutes of your time to send this supportive message.
VHS GLITCH: You sir are a class act! I will admit to thinking many of the films from 1980s were not bearable. Now that I'm 45 yrs old(and steeped in acts like CHROME, YOUTH CODE, GOBLIN, FOREIGN GUTTURAL D.METAL BANDS, AL DI MEOLA, AND ARABIC TRAP MUSIC) I have matured enuf to really appreciate those films, and this insanely perfect genre, where you appear to be shining. Thank you! K.W.Jeter would approve. Long live cassette tapes btw; hearing u had released some material on that format warmed my heart, s o frm Stockton, CA!
Very interesting, those background voices and tunes really create some cool and almost forgotten 80-s nostalgia feeling. Feels like short micro trips back to childhood.
ims0deranged I'm so glad to hear you liked that release man. Halloween it's always a really inspiring season. I'm not sure if I will be able to write a part 2 this year but I'll try to make something special with the part 1 :D
That sounds great! That album reminds me of a Vincent Price horror movie! I love the sounds of retro-horror. Dance With The Dead got me hooked on NewRetroWave , which lead me to Trevor Something, Com Truise, and your own bandcamp site :) .
ims0deranged When uploading to RU-vid, it compresses the audio, which lowers the sound quality. On Bandcamp, they host the pure MP3's, FLAC's, whatever, which is why listening on Bandcamp mostly sounds better compared to RU-vid.
I love to play this at work, I do a lot of Data analysis over the day, and it just makes me feel like I am still in the 80's, trying to save the world with data.
