One thing that Kyle excels at is knowing exactly what needs to change in a tone to get it to where he wants it. He can play one or two bars and immediately know that a tone needs more bass, less treble and all of the sudden it sounds amazing. He has good ears.
A VHT was my first "boutique" amp as well: a late 90's Ultra lead with graphic eq. Still one of my all time favorite amps and I wish I never sold it. I bought that back in 2003, mint condition for $1600 Canadian. Wish I could still find one for that price. Lol!
You did yourself a favor by not selling this!! I had one of these about 10 years ago. There was a time you could get these for $750 all day long. Not anymore. These are incredible amps that punch hard and are super articulate (CLEAR)!! They do come to life with a boost. I so regret getting rid of mine. If tube amps are so dinosaur as they say, how come the prices on these and other amps have doubled???
@@belligerentamateur it’s crazy… I’ve been pricing a 412 and Marshall cabs are like $1700 now. I remember when I could get a 1960ax\ahw for $799… sucks
In 2001-2002 I got my Pittbull 50CL/EQ for 900€. It was brand new with just 10 or 20 hours of (ab)use. I got It from a friend who worked in a recording studio, the amp never gigged, it was used just for recording (at first they wanted 1300€ but after 6 month getting dust, they gave it to me). The guys told me: "every kid who records here wants the Dual Rectifier tone...so we end up using the Line6 POD and the VHT gets dust". I have to say the VHT is not easy to use at first, but the other guy in my band had a Mesa/Boogie (the first model of the 100w dual rectifier with only 2 channels) and the VHT was way, way better both for cleans and overdrive. I stop using OD pedals thanks to that head. The cool thing is that with a little effort, you can even have vintage tones out of it! But it's damn heavy to carry around, and I'm no longer 20yo :D Thanks God we have great lunchbox tube heads today!
Eventually you'll need to test out the Sig X. It is the most "Marshally" of the VHT/Fryette series and yet still has that signature tight Fryette tone.
here to listen to the Deliverance, to see if this is the next Synergy module to buy..... and IT IS! its a really unique voice that feels like its a blend of a marshall and mark series; yet that low mid bark is gonna stand out in a mix. and it can be really tight sounding
Great sounding amp pushing it with your pedal. The non pushed classic rock sound by itself is endearing to me as well. Playing that Alice Cooper “No More Mr. Nice Guy” riff hit the spot with that tone! Bravo! 🤘🏻😎
One of my favorite amps of all time, I miss my Deliverance 120. I want to get a Deliverance 120 MKII, since the reason I sold it was because it didn't have an effects loop.
One of my favourites youve had on the channel so far. Weird because I tend to loathe extremely dry amps of late. Perhaps because my playing is shite now I've got a kid lol
My D120 is another amp I will never ever get rid of, unless I can trade up to a mkII D120. Hey let me know if/when you want that you know what!!!! (Hint if you don't, remember, rev +)
Yeah dude... I recently bought the Deliverance 120 for a THIRD and FINAL time. I’m never selling this amp again. I was actually lucky to get it at the price I paid for it so it was like the universe speaking to me! Hahaha It’s without a doubt my favorite amp of all next to my Bridge City Sound “Steel Bridge” and my old Peters that I still regret selling. I wanna try the new Deliverance! Just out of my price range for now.
Amazing tone! Does your v30s ENGL Pro sharp as hell? Mine has a bit of a scratchy quality I'd love to tame, I think it is because it's straight but i don't really dig the tone of this cab.
if you are a even remotely sloppy player stay away from these amps, when you play great they sound great , if not they sound like shit and will frustrate you
Hell yeah man! You make this bad boy sound killer! I've wanted one of these since I saw Unearth play them live back in the day. I love the hot rodded JCM800/2203 sound it has. I've been debating what high gain amp to get, and I think this demo sealed the deal for me.
