Vi Redd is still very much with us at 93 and a half years old. There is just such a warm and dignified quality in this classy lady. Monk Rowe, as always, lead the conversation with an ease and style that many other interviewers should study and learn. Monk's easy demeanor brought out the very best in this talented, charming, gracious lady.
What a treasure this interview is! Ms. Redd’s clear recollections of her many decades on the L.A. music scene is a very valuable history, as is preserved in this fashion. Thank you, Monk.
You have this amazing musician interviewed. Thank you, you made my day. Stormy Monday with Count Basie I listen to every morning before heading for work.
I’m very proud to be a Webster Family descendant via her aunt and my GG, Hazel Webster Stanislaus. My son will be doing a report for his musical history class on Women in Jazz Music. He has Jazz in his genes. It’s a Webster Family Thing! 🙌🏽❤️
