The kid's talented for sure, I just can't get on board with it. I'm no talent headhunter, so it's just my opinion but when I listen to this guy it doesn't hook me in.I looked away from the screen just to imagine what it would sound like on my iPod and it's just not catchy in the least. Sure, the first 30 seconds give you that awe-factor from his multi-syllable verses and quick pacing, but it quickly gets stale; rapping is a lot more than just rhyming a bunch of words together. The background pitch goes from low to high so often that it's naturally annoying on the ears, and his choice of topics aren't meaningful -- there's no soul to it. I'll give a better example, when I was introduced to Big K.R.I.T. it renewed my love for soulful rap. He's catchy, he's passionate, there's a story in his songs and his transitions and switch-ups to different tempos is nearly flawless. That's the "complete package" that draws in listeners, that's something I don't feel this kid has 'yet'. He seems more concerned with stringing sentences together than making them flow well,no amount of words you spit makes up for the quality of the work. So before you flame my opinion, realize it is only that... my opinion. I think he's got some real natural talent and hopefully he'll hit it big once he learns a little more, but his transitions aren't appealing or memorable and all I felt like I heard was a boatload of rhyming words. He's got the energy, just needs a little guidance.
